“Great Service, Great Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2010

We stayed here with my son's hockey team. It is a nice hotel with good facilities including two swimming pools (one with a waterslide!) The rooms are comfortable with good beds. We stayed in the Atrium section and had a room that faced the restaurant. It was very loud on Saturday night due to the number of Christmas parties going on in the banquet rooms. We were very pleased with the service at this hotel. All of the staff were very friendly. Our son was very ill one night - we mentioned this to the housekeeper because we needed fresh towels. Within 30 minutes, the front desk had sent up soup, crackers and gingerale (on the house!) Nice touch!

“Left us stranded”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

We booked our room very early (in April) for the Bon Jovi concert in July 2010. I was given a guaranteed rate of $169 confirmed by email. When we arrived in town at noon we stopped by the hotel to confirm all was ok, including the guaranteed room rate (as they were now charging almost double the rate because of the concert.) All was well. Our room was not yet ready, so we kept our stuff in the car, informed the hotel we would be back late that night after the concert; and we were leaving our car and C-training it as we would probably have a couple of drinks that night. No problem they said.
When we arrived back at the hotel by C-train just after midnight; we were informed there now was no room for us!!!!! They claimed there was water damage to our room; but would not let us actually see it. They had made no attempt to accomodate us anywhere else, so we were left after midnight that night during Stampede week trying to book a motel. A friend staying at another motel far in the north end picked us up, Delta offered to pay for our room at the only (seedy) motel with an available room we could find, which was an hour away. When we finally got to that motel we found Delta had not called or made any such arrangements as promised; so we then had to call them; we were lucky the room was still available.
I wonder how it happened that although we booked our room way back in April, the hotel was full with many new and many more recently booked arrivals that night, and we were the ones who got punted? I had confirmed the booking and rate a number of times, the front desk also had my cell number that night in case there was a problem.
Delta left us totally stranded after midnight during stampede week, and were aware we could not (would not) be able to drive that night as we planned to have a couple of drinks at the concert. Thank god we had a friend at another motel who could come and get us! I will never rely on Delta again!!!

“Nice hotel, good breakfast buffet, but nothing really outstanding.”

We stayed at the Delta for 5 days on a trip to Calgary for a family wedding. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and professional. The Atrium restaurant had an excellent breakfast buffet and the indoor pool with the slide was fun for the kids. I would rate it a good, basic hotel, but didn't find anything in particular to rave about.

“You'll sleep like a baby”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2010

I checked into the hotel late sunday evening on the 12th. As I was going to my room, I expected it to be like any other hotel room. I was impressed when I walked in:
1. Very clean bathroom, and I very much like the large walk in shower instead of a bathtub.
2. Clean microwave and appropriate sized refrigerator.
3. Nice size closet for clothes and such.
4. Updated furniture
5. Nice workspace and tables.
6**** Amazing king size bed with a great pillowtop comforter that lets you sink in and enjoy a deep sleep. (normally I have a hard time sleeping in a bed not my own, but I sleep like a baby in this bed.) I almost wish it was a bit uncomfortable, so I could wake up and get out of bed faster!!
7. I've found the staff is very friendly and professional.
8. I haven't eaten in the Bonaventure lounge, but have come in to relax after a long day and the two tenders, an older gentleman and a younger lady have been incredible - very attentive, fast and provide good conversation for a person such as myself. I do appreciate that.
9. Free coffee in the mornings is a major plus.
10. The restaurant/pub next door - Boomtown has good food at reasonable prices and the staff is nice.
11. The pool and hottub look nice, but I haven't had time to experiance it. I did walk in and was impressed that I wasn't overtaken by chlorine fumes.
12. The housekeeping services are exceptional!
13. I am also still checked in, I had to extend for another week and this was accomplished in 2 minutes with no problem at all.

The only downside that comes to mind is:
1. Cable selection on the television. Maybe a better interactive selection to watch television shows:
A. A tv guide that doesn't move at its own pace, the viewer should be able to page down as he wants and when he finds a show, he could highlight it to get show information.
B. A hotel of this quality should have 1 or 2 premium movie channels to watch for free. (no, I'm not meaning adult channels)

2. A Porter to collect your bags when you arrive and bring to your room would also be nice.

Other than that I really liked this hotel, thats why I decided to extend there again.

“BEWARE - THEY HAVE BAD ROOMS AND WON'T WARN YOU”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2010

We had a reservation (made more than a month prior to our stay) for this hotel, and when we arrived we were given a room without any windows in a far corner of the ground floor. It was dark and we felt we were in a prison cell. We asked for another room but they claimed nothing else was available. When we made the reservation, there was no information whatsoever that we would stay in a room without windows.
After our complaint the manager in charge called to our room, she apologized but there was no other service recovery - which I thought was bad.
So beware when you decide to stay here - you could end up in a dark prison cell.
