This hotel was adequate for our stay in Calgary. It is a short trolley ride into the centre of the city. We had a car to explore other areas of the city too (such as Walmart). But the price was right at $106US, when we stayed mid June 2010. The room was fine, spacious and had a small fridge. The rate included breakfast too. It was standard motel type accommodation, but there was nothing apart from the weather that dampened our stay.

Another downtown hotel. Probably the oldest hotel we stayed in, and it showed its wear. But it was clean and very convenient to restaurants. We ate at Red Lobster and for the first time while in Canada our dinner bill wasn’t a hundred dollars.

They served a very nice continental breakfast in the morning. All in all it turned out to be an okay place to stay.

I stayed four nights at this hotel to attend a wedding and visit friends. Nothing fancy but room was clean, had a fridge and microwave, ironing board and iron, as well as hair dryer. Bed was somewhat lumpy. Pillows were extremely lumpy. Quiet. Continental breakfast was more than adequate - cereal, fruit, yoghurt, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, croissants, toast, oatmeal - I think, coffee, tea, juice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Several restaurants within short walking distance.

Stayed at Travelodge Calgary University for 12 nights in Sept 2010.
The hotel is warmly recommended, room very well sized, & convenience of coffee maker, fridge and microwave in the room are very much appreciated.
The location is extremely convenient - c-train 2min walk away, Brentwood mall a c-train hop away, small shops and several restaurants nearby - avoid Red Lobster, but do try SaigonY2K!! - very good Vietnamese! Also many good Vietnamese & dimsum just a c-train hop away downtown.
In particular the wireless this hotel provided was very good, I did a lot of work involving java-heavy monitoring pages and rarely a problem.
Rate it 9.8/10 & would definitely recommend it.
The loss of .2 point is that the desk chair, although very comfortable, is too low for working at the desk and the chair won't rise up!
Cushions & spare pillow to the rescue.
Also there was no plugin available for my laptop hear the desk - nearby plugins were used by fridge, microwave & TV (the TV was also excellent).
The helpful front desk staff immediately provided an extension cord for the duration of my stay.
