Having arrived in Calgary during the global petroleum show, we were not able to find a hotel room, so had to look for alternative accommodation and were finally lucky to get a positive answer from the Shangarry bed & breakfast. This was our first stay in a b&b and we will surely remember it as one of our best experience during our 10- week trip through USA and Canada
Thanks our GPS, we found easily the house located in a very quiet residential area, but not far away from attractive shopping opportunities.
Due to the very bad weather we were not able to enjoy sitting in the garden just in front of the golf course but can confirm that it is a fantastic place to relax with a drink offered by the hosts Josephine and her husband Raghu, after a busy workday or a long trip.
Josephine, who did everything to make out stay a pleasant one, is a wonderful host. She is extremely friendly, helpful and warm-hearted. She doesn’t only know what hospitality is, she lives it. Her fantastic breakfast is the best thing you can have to start a day.

stayed in calgary for 3 night in a B&B called Shangarry B&B in South calgary and was treated like royalty, by my hostess and her husband, rented a car from enterprise who picked me up, drove to Banff, and then on to Waterton, Peace park, one of the most beautiful places on earth, again to be treated like royalty, stayed there five nights, and even visited the USA, cruised on the lakes, saw much wildlife, food in the hotels was wonderful, staff were most helpful in the Kilmorey Lodge, the Bayshore Inn and Gift shop, Pats shop and gas station, and the resort centre, and well as the Crandell Lodge, can't wait to go back. Driving in canada is so easy, first time on the right hand side of the road, the drivers there are courteous, and pedestrians get right of way mostly, only things to watch out for is double fines where there are road works as speed must be halved, and of course wild animals on the roads.
