Hostess Josephine was completely unfazed when we called to say we wouldn’t arrive at the Shangarry until about 1:30am because of a cancelled flight, and made appropriate arrangements to let us in. She and her husband were also super-helpful about the fact that our bags didn’t arrive with us (pity Air Canada wasn’t quite as helpful!) and lent us coats for the unseasonally awful weather which descended on Calgary. Huge and delicious breakfast and friendly and informative hosts throughout our visit. The only slight imperfection is that the Dublin room shares its bathroom with one other room, although there is a further cloakroom in case of emergency!
The B&B is a ten-minute walk from the Transit, and from there it’s about 15 minutes into town. If you are from the UK and want to use the cash machines in the shopping mall (handily on the way to the Transit stop), don’t bother with the small ATM machines – you’ll have more luck with the proper Nova Scotia branch there.
