We stayed at this HI for one night before travelling to Skoki the following day. I have never stayed in a hostel before and I was somewhat shocked at the small size of the private room. For $110.00 per night I was expecting something larger but hotel rooms in Lake Louise are very expensive . In a private room you share a toilet with one other room and the shower is in the hall. The rooms with 1 queen bed provides more room than 2 single beds which gave us enough room to organize our packs for the trip into Skoki the next day. Packs are also less alarming to guests in a HI than they would be in the Post Hotel or Chateau Lake Louise The building is done up attractively with a large lounge area, kitchen and restaurant. The location is excellent as it is a very short walk to 'business district' of Lake Louise. For supper we walked to the bar at the Post Hotel where we had an excellent dinner. While making breakfast in the kitchen and listening to the conversation I felt all of my 50 plus years old - a rude awakening to realize that I am no longer 20 something. Noise in the hallway during the night could be an issue, it didn't keep me awake but could be a problem for a light sleeper. The staff was excellent very friendly and helpful. Before staying in a HI again I would have to balance off the price of the private HI room with what was available at other hotels in the area recognizing that I was giving up some privacy staying in a HI.
