Ive stayed at this HI about half a dozen times now, it is simply the best accommodation in the area for the price you pay obviously because its a hostel, though the only hostel in Lake Louise. The restaurant is great and serve a fantastic big breaky that will help you get up the hill.
The shuttle for Lake Louise Ski area leaves from Lake Louise Inn, which is right across the road from the hostel, the front desk staff are fairly helpful, so they should be able to provide you with a schedule.
You get all age groups staying here also, ive shared a room with people 18 - 60. Though if you are looking for party, go back to Banff as there is not much in Lake Louise for that kind of thing.
The rooms are either I think 4, 6, 8 bed dorms, with a bathroom, that don't include a shower, showers are out in the hall. I don't have really anything bad to say about this place, it is exactly what I need it to be and when I head to snow board Lake Louise again ill stay here.

We stayed 2 nights and wished we had planned one more. We are not hostel folks normally but were trying to save a little money and this one looked especially nice on web. It was! Beautiful building, lovely living room and great cafe. Next time we'd cook more in the large kitchen. This time only used it for breakfast one day. The cafe off lobby is really good - and our waiter was a rancher's son from Ontario who kept us entertained with bear adventures. Room was small as expected but not bad at all. We shared a bath with one other room - off small private entryway. We never saw the other couple until we checked out. There were showers for every 4 rooms and they were never occupied when we wanted to take shower and clean as a whistle. Staff was very friendly and grounds were lovely. Fantastic location on river, next to Lake Louise village shopping area. There is a nice path to walk the few minutes into village for more food and shopping choices.

This place is a nice place to stay for a few days. Affordable, clean, great restaurant. This was though the noisiest place I have ever stayed. Not the walls but the floors. Be sure to get a top floor room as if there is anyone above you they may be incredibly noisy. Bone-jarring noisy.

This place is better than I expected given the mixed reviews. Our family of 3 stayed here for 1 night and we were pretty happy with it. We got a private room with a full bed on the bottom and 1 single bed on top. The room is small and you do share a bathroom with the room next door. There are plenty of showers on the floors. The front desk was helpful with my various questions during our stay. The kitchen is downstairs and we used it couple of times for meals, good enough. The living room area is upstairs and quite spacious, few couches, computers with internet (there's a fee, not sure how much), chess table, books, and study tables and some bathrooms. There's a small restaurant on site but we didn't eat
there. I wouldn't mind staying here again, it is close to all the hiking trails around Lake Louise, very convenient location. There's also a gas station and small grocery store within walking distance.
