My husband and I needed a place to stay for only one night when we were passing though Lake Louise (stayed at The Paradise Lodge&Bungalows the previous week) and were looking for a more reasonably priced accommodation. The Mountaineer Lodge was the perfect answer! It was very clean,spacious and the people at the front desk couldn't have been nicer. We took advantage of the spacious indoor jacuzzi which felt great after so many days of hiking. If you're not interested in having a kitchen to cook your own meals and don't want to spend more than $200/night, you can't go wrong with this hotel.

This place is the best in the area, the pickings are slim. Most are more expensive. Lake Louise is a beautiful place, try not to stay in any hotel for very long. The views are spectacular. This hotel is very, very clean. The staff is welcoming & helpful. Room is adequate. No elevator to access the second floor in the older section. Would stay only here if we revisited the area.

We have been visiting the Mountaineer Lodge in Lake Louise since 1997. Mr. Biro, Louis and Sophie welcome us each visit and make us feel like part of the family. We will always stay at the Mountaineer when we visit Lake Louise. We visit every other year. The lodge faciliities are exceptional. Hotel staff is friendly.

To begin with I'm not a fan of the amenities in Lake Louise. There are very few restaurants and they all close early. Getting into town here late is not good. We arrived at 9pm found a hotel, found the one open restaurant and narrowly missed closing. The little shops that they do have are overpriced. Personally I would make this place a day stop, see the lake, and move on. But if you are going to stay in Lake Louise this is pretty much the cheapest place and just fine for a night or two. $189 for a $110 room anywhere else is the best you can do in this town. It's not horrible here but it wasn't super clean although the front desk lady was very nice and helpful.
