“Totally awesome”

I needed a room for a night and this place and from start to finish the service was beyond wonderful. When I checked in I said I had a reservation in a 4 person dorm but all were full but they apologized and gave me a free room upgrade!!I had a private room with facilties down the hall plus my view was of Mt Rundle and it was flat out beautiful. The place is spotless, quiet and a great place to stay for the budget traveller and should I ever need to stay in Banff again I will with absolute conviction stay there again. My only complaint is that were only 1 outlet in the room so I had to unplug the lamp and alarm clock to set up my laptop and Rocket hub.If you have these on your trip please bring a power to help you out with your electrical needs apart from this you cannot go wrong staying there

Room Tip: Room 302 has a view of Mt Rundle

“Great value”

I stayed in a double room with a private shower and toilet. It was basic but clean and tidy. Only two plug sockets in the entire room though so had to unplug the bedside light to charge my phone. The rooms are very quiet, a few doors down a group of guys were listening to music with their door open, once I shut mine I couldn't hear it and had an excellent nights sleep.

Communal kitchen was sufficiently stocked and there is a supermarket just over the river. There was convenient free parking once I displayed a sign I got from reception.

I will be returning in a couple of weeks and plan a longer trip with my wife in the future.

“Location Staff and large clean rooms”

I've stayed here 3 times now - always consistent - excellent staff, I mean everyone from front desk to cleaning was awesome. The rooms are no frills but clean and very large AND quiet. What more can I say really - its located where a hotel would cost you at least 2 - 3 times as much!! Easy decision..

RA

Room Tip: There was plenty of party goers - look for something peripheral or possibly top floor..

“Good place to stay for the price”

Three of us stayed here in a three bed room with ensuite and kitchenette. Clean, spacious, warm, everything we wanted really. The staff are also very helpful and the parking was free. We were lucky with the kitchenette in our room which was basically stocked with crockery and cutlery so consequently we didnt use or even see the communal cooking facilities.
The lodge is in a good location just a few minute walk into the town across the bridge. We would recommend hiring a car from calgary airport for the duration of your trip, the bus to the resorts is about 20$ return each day which builds up and the transfer was $50 each way with Brewsters. The car took away the hassle of waiting for buses and queuing so if i was to come back i'd definitely get a car.

All in all the YWCA was very good value for money and id stay there again.

“Inexpensive Lodging in Banff”

We stayed in a room with one double bed and a private bath. The rooms are very simple, but clean. No bath, small shower only. The hostel/hotel has a group kitchen and laundry facilities. The kitchen could be cleaner and more plates, dishes. Needs improvement.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room in a corner. We had a room off the stairs and elevator and it was noisy.
