“Average Hotel, Nice Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Well the real reason I chose this hotel was because it is pet friendly and I love taking our little pug everywhere we go! Was I impressed? Not overly. Would I stay here again? Probably.

I wasn't overly impressed with the check in clerk (we arrived around 9 pm Friday January 13). She was quite rude about us having our dog in a 'pet friendly' hotel. Not only did we book through the Red Carpet's own website, we booked the "pet friendly rate", and I included the details of our dog (size, breed, neutered etc.)

The room was mediocre at best, and really we are not that fussy! Everything was very old, the blankets were thin and a a disco floor style pattern. The ceiling fan was bent, their was a huge fluorescent light above the bed! The room and bathroom were over all very clean and well kept but this hotel is in dire need of modernization.

The only complaint I have about the bathroom was that they left used shampoo's in the tub! It was laid right on top of the clean towels and when I picked up the shampoo bottle it was half empty and there was a hair on it!! (I threw it away as I always pack my own anyways.)

As far as continental breakfast goes it was great. Good variety of beverages, cereal, bread and bagels were all fresh.

The location was fine though, close enough to walk down town, and over all we didn't spend a great deal of time in our room anyway because we were snowboarding all day Saturday and headed home Sunday morning.

“Great place to stay right in downtown Banff”

Red Carpet Inn is an economy hotel right in the middle of town. It is within walking distance of all restaraunts and shops in Banff townsite. It is very clean, we stayed in the two queen bed room and it is very spacious. The hotel also has a sparkling new hot tub to relax in after the days activities. The hotel also offers a continental breakfest... cereal, toast, bagels juice and coffee... Wireless internet is also free.. We have stayed here several times and have always been satisfied. We have stayed in hotels and paid much more than what we paid here and Red Carpet was equal to those places and at a lot lower price....

“Middle of Banff Town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Red Carpet Inn is a hotel in the middle of Banff Town. Though not a high end lodge, it is a simple, neat place to spend a night. The advantage of staying there is that one can stroll the streets of Banff town. Banff is a small town in the midst of Canadian Rockies and the town is very picturesque and scenic.
The hotel is neat and rooms are tidy and well furnished, though a bit small. Bathrooms are clean and sterile. They provide complimentary breakfast and the continental breakfast is good. There was this girl in the restaurant, who was happy singing songs while doing chores.
Of course the rates were on the higher side for such a small hotel; but then we stayed there in the peak of summer season.

Room Tip: Go for a room near the elevator if you have luggage as the corridors are very narrow.

“Winterstart runners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

This hotel is attractive and clean with all the amenities we needed. Beds were comfortable. There was a safety bar in the shower. It was fairly quiet considering it is on a main street. We did not use the hot tub, but I believe it was being renovated and that we could use the one in the hotel next door. The hallways have many corners so it is easy to get confused if you have any directional challenges. The breakfast was quite decent -- all we needed. It included a variety of cereals, juices, bread, english muffins, apples and oranges, hot chocolate along with tea and coffee. We had a coupon from a coupon book so the price was quite reasonable.

“great comfort for a budget hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

we stayed at the Red Carpet Inn for one night . . It is an Older hotel but has had some renos done in the room. The Beds we comfortable and the room was very clean . we had a balcony which did show some age but I didn't care about that . We were not in Banff to sit around in the room . The reasonable price gave us extra money so we could go out to eat at the many wonderful restaurants. and have a few drinks at the bars. The location was great as we could walk to all the clubs and not have to worry about driving . They also provided a simple continental breakfast which was nice . I have stayed in the really big hotels out there and yes the rooms are nice (but not by much) and have wonderful lobbies . They are 4 to 5 times more expensive. If money is tight and you want a reasonable room this is fine .

Room Tip: we stayed in room 309 which had a vaulted ceiling
