We just spent a couple nights in Banff and stayed at the Banff Park Lodge. The rooms are a bit worn but they are quite large and well kept. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and the location is great.

The breakfasts are expensive but there are a lot of other alternatives very close by. We got an excellent rate for the midweek days so it was good value.

There was an issue with noise and what seemed to be quite a large party on the night before New Years. I spoke with a couple of other guests and they were kept up as well.

Overall, a nice stay.

We have just returned from a memorable 11-night stay at the BPL. From the moment we entered the Lobby to the day we departed the service by all staff was excellent. Our room was spacious and clean & had two queen size beds - the mattress was the most comfortable I have ever slept on. The buffet breakfast was delicious & varied with a huge selection to choose from - the chef cooking fresh omelettes was an added bonus. The bar area was cosy and the service delivered by George was excellent - the food served was fresh with large portions & the cake tray served with such a choice of delicious cakes was a real treat! A great effort was made to make the festive season special with the pianist & trays of biscuits. We have enjoyed the most memorable Christmas stay in the breathtaking & beautiful town of Banff where the location of the hotel is second to none. Thanks to everyone at the BPL from the front of house, concierge, the serving staff to the housekeeper...we will definitely return!

Easy to find location that is a couple of streets over from the main business areas of Banff. Room was well kept and the rooms were pretty nice. Considered eating in the hotel, but the breakfast menu was expensive! Walk across the street to Melissa's instead. Would be a first choice next time I stay in Banff.

We just returned from a magical 2 weeks with our two sons at BPL this Christmas. This hotel has got to be the best in Banff and I would definitely return. The location is really perfect, it is so close to all the shops and restaurants, and two supermarkets. Also, it is the last pick-up stop for the ski buses, so you dont have to go around all the other hotels. The room was large with two extremely comfortable queen beds (with mattress toppers), the decor is a bit old-fashioned, but it has everything you need (fridge, coffee-maker, TV etc.) and the heater was very efficient, so we were very cosy.We also had a balcony with picture window overlooking the mountains, with stunning sunrise and sunsets. The pool area is very modern and stylish, with a swimming pool, warm pool and then a hot jacuzzi pool, as well as a steam room, which was great after a days skiing. The staff were all very friendly, professional and helpful, and our room cleaner was great. The concierges were all knowledgeable and helped us to get the right bus each morning, as well as keeping the lovely big fire going day and night. We did not eat at the hotel, there is a great place for breakfast (Melissas) just opposite, which serves HUGE pancakes. We also liked the baseball steak at the Keg round the corner. Well Done BPL - Thank you for helping to make our Christmas the best ever!
