“great base for snowboarding/skiing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

I stayed here with my partner ita a great hotel conveniently located on Banff Avenue only minutes from Downtown Banff, it has a fitness centre, whirlpool and restaurant El Toro which serves canadian cuisine with a Spanish and Mexican influence, food is delicious and resonably priced,Staff are very friendly.
Lake Louise, Sunshine and Norquay ski resorts are easily reached by the ski bus that is free with your lift pass and stops just outside the hotel. Rooms are spacious and all you need for a good night sleep after a long days boarding!
We went tubing at norquay which was great fun, we also went on a helicopter ride over the rockies which was totally amazing and definatly reccomended.
All in all a great holiday

“O.K. but could use some updating.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

My wife and I stayed here for three nights in October. It was very quiet here at that time of the year and I am sure it is much busier during ski season. It is very close to downtown, so you can leave your vehicle in the underground parking and walk almost anywhere in the town. Front desk staff checked us in quickly but I did find that some of them were not very friendly. In a tourist town like Banff I would expect them to greet everyone coming and going since the elevator is very close to the front desk. The room was clean but needs a little upgrading since it appeared that the furnishings and draperies had been around for a while. I also didn't like the noisy hallways, including the barking dogs from some of the guest rooms. I would most likely stay here again since the price was reasonable.

“Good but loud”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Overall it was a great place to stay nice and close to the center, great staff, nice and clean rooms and the restaurant had a great breakfast. My only two complaints are the bathroom is a little small and it can be rather loud when you hear people in the hall ways. Would I go back....probably.

“Great Rate & Comfy Beds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We travelled in Low Season and found an incredible rate online. When checking in, we were even offered a free upgrade. Very friendly place. Rooms were clean, the beds were comfy. I was sorry that we didn't have a chance to check out the restaurant. Maybe next time!

“Good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011

Banff is an expensive place to stay so we were very glad to stay here at a good price. We only stayed one night so can't really comment on the service. The front desk person was not busy and pleasant enough but not overly friendly! The rooms were very clean and the linens fresh. Bed was very comfortable. The room was small - there were two queen size beds which made it difficult to move around and our view was of the backpacker hostel next door! However I would recommend this hotel to anyone - the location is fantastic, just a short walk to the cafes, shops etc. Not too much parking if you have a higher vehicle. You can only go into the underground parking if you can get under the quite low barrier! At the price we paid this has to be the best value in Banff at the moment.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view!
