The owners really make you feel welcome, the rooms are large and bright and very comfy beds. Breakfast good quality foods one drawback you have to order the night before which means it is helpful to them and not to you (I don't know what I want next morning but I have to decide) this could be done better. The only other snag is a noisy macerator when you flush the loo or have a shower or the next door used theirs of it went loudly.
Facilities good with a nice lounge, swimming pool, full size snooker, table hot tub etc but once again good if there are a gang of you,A lone traveller might as well stay in your room as with no bar or anything did not see any one else in this area in several nights

I have been staying at Whitton lodge twice a week since January 2010 and can honestly say that in all my years of staying in B&B's and hotels that there is no where better.
John & Kim constantly put themselves out to ensure guest comfort and Kims full english breakfasts are the stuff of legend!!
All the rooms are very well put together and rooms 1 & 2 are particuarly luxurious. The pool, sauna, fitness room & snooker table are also well kept and make a very nice way to end a busy day.
I regret that I will not be able to spend longer making regular visits to John & Kim but my work now takes me abroad but hope I will get the chance to visit the lodge again. Thanks John & Kim your the best.

My wife and I stopped in for a night rest whilst driving up the M1. As one other review said its a true home away from home. The location is great, comfortably in the green countryside but only 10 mins from the M1. There are some great National Trust things to see nearby. There is a local pub 2 mins walking distance away, and we had a fantastic 3 course meal there. The cheese platter was AMAZING. Having spent 3 times as much for food half as nice in Central London the night before this was a refreshing surprise.

The rooms are comfortable and a the bed was comfy. Everything was clean. There's far more facilities than you would expect for a B&B, including an indoor swimming pool and snooker table. The hosts were really friendly and the breakfast was great. Would definitely stop in again.

I stayed at Whitton Lodge for the first time last night and it is truely outstanding! I have a client I visit two days a week and need to stay overnight in the area. I've tried several hotels and didn't feel comfortable in any of them, all too formal or unfriendly. As a solo female visitor, it's uncomfortable to sit in a bar at a hotel, so the feel and comfort of Whitton Lodge is refreshing! John greeted me with a friendly smile and showed me around. The whole house has a warm and friendly feeling and my room felt like a guest bedroom at a relatives. I ate at the Famous Shoulder, a two minute stroll away, where again, there was a friendly, warm greeting, good food, good wine and no fuss. Breakfast this morning was cooked by the wonderful Kim and the relaxed atmosphere gave me a great start to the day! I'm booked to stay again on Monday, and then weekly, it will be my home away from home! Thanks John and Kim, see you next week!
