This b & b is spotlessly clean and so friendly. There was everything you needed including a pub/restaurant within a short walk. We were told to treat the place as our own home and it was delightful to have all the facilities available: snooker table, library area, lounge etc. What a find, and such generous hosts - we will return!!

I have stayed here several times on business and thought I must simply get round to writing a review on this superb b&b.
The location is wonderfully relaxing in itself with plenty of parking, until you check-in and get in your room the only way to describe the rooms is "simply luxurious", all the rooms are superb but I personally thought that rooms 1 and 2 oh and not forgetting the new room 8 were better than some of the hilton rooms that I have stayed in.
The wifi, snooker table and honesty bar come in useful as well.
John the landlord is a great character always willing to answer any questions or queries that you may have as well as having the craic at the same time, every b&b should have one!
Kim his wonderful wife and her merry helpers help keep the lodge immaculate and as for the breakfast, "oh my word definately memorable!"
As for the evening meals tried the shoulder Inn next door and found it pricey with no atmosphere, until I discovered that if you make a left turn out of the lodge and carry on for about a mile on the first roundabout you come to, you'll discover The White Hart Pub what can I say the great local warm atmosphere that all travellers crave, Diane the wonderfully friendly landlady and chef with delectable specials on every night and those 2-1 steak and carvery nights and not forgetting the local characters propping up the bar every night in front of a blazing log fire whilst telling you about the days events that can only be told whilst having that northern craic, I'll take my hat off to Jolly old ROGER and to Big JOHN, you might even get to join in on a practise game of Skittles.
I could have quite easily stayed in one of those tv advertised concrete soulless and characterless rooms/hotels at £19/£29 pppn but no way I'm now always on the look out for places like Whitton Lodge when I'm travelling around the country on business to stay in and am already looking forward to my next round of meetings in Nottingham and Chesterfield as there's only one guarantee and that's a great nights sleep followed by a great locally sourced fresh breakfast.

Perfect for business or leisure, quiet, wifi, very well appointed, spacious, thoroughly relaxing, extremely friendly and accommodating hosts. Would go nowhere else in this area.

I've now been staying at Whitton Lodge nearly weekly, since March 2010. The reason that I stay? Because of the feeling that I get, every time I pull into the driveway, I'm home! Work brings me to Chesterfield and it's a long way from home, so to have the friendliness and the comfort is very important to me. I could have chosen a dozen or more places closer to wear I visit in Chesterfield, but can't see any reason for staying anywhere else! The 3 new rooms are exquisite and I type now, sitting in one of the new rooms, which is better than a lot of 5* hotels that I have stayed in. As long as I visit Chesterfield, I'll be at Whitton Lodge!
