Stayed at the hotel for 5 weeks on a business trip. Highly satisfied with the service. Location in a safe and nice area with a private parking lot and a swimming pool. The big advantage is that the hotel is its aseismic stability- during my stay there there was an earthquake of 7,5 in Richer scale, and there was no major damage to the building, so it was possible to continue the stay in quite a safe and comfortable (under the given circumstances) conditions. Will choose the same hotel for the next business trip in September.

We went for my godaughters babtism, my girlfriend loved the AC because it was about 110 degrees outside. A little pricy at $90 a night, and when we wanted to go out to the club our door wouldn't lock so we stayed in.

Upon arriving the hotel staff seemed rather pleasant, but my trip was 10 days. After the 3rd day, I was told my rate was higher than originally booked and I only paid for 7 days. My company had to step in to fix the situation. Then I was told I had to pay extra for continental breakfast.

The Sales Manager never seemed to be available and the day staff could only repeat what they were told. I eventually moved to another hotel. The hotel was clean, but the service was very unfriendly to American business people.

One gentleman is staying for several months and has had nothing but trouble. It is my understanding he is moving to another hotel as he is told his rate is now higher and he also must pay $15 a day more for the no longer courtesy contiental breakfast.

I suppose if you plan to visit for a few days the hotel is okay, but if you are staying in Mexicali for business....stir clear of the Araiza.

A nice hotel and the cheapest of the 3 big hotels in Mexicali. It is this fact that is it’s downfall. Every time I have stayed there, I have had problems with the large groups of children and youth that stay there by the hundreds, that is using the words of the staff. I have gone down to the front desk and called on several occasions to complain of the running up and down the halls, the stairs, the slamming of doors, and the standing around talking and yelling loudly, but to no avail, I was just told that they are doing the best they can and that security could not control the large groups of kids. Maybe they should tell them to stay in their rooms after midnight, yet they continued each night I was there ‘til 5 in the morning. So if you are considering staying at this nice hotel, just beware that you most likely will not get any sleep. Also, if you are hungry, the room service is great, but the restaurant is not up to par with the 5 star rating of the hotel, as the décor needs to be repaired.
