Staff was wonderful, if not a bit too eager to help. The pool area looks great at night with the lighting and the fountain. The room is nice and what you expect for a 2-3 star hotel. The one negative was that we were placed in a building in which the air conditioner had stopped working. The weather was nice enough that this was not a big issue. The location is convienent to many restaurants and even a Starbucks. We felt very safe in the hotel and would stay again.

We loved this hotel! The food was fabulous. The pool was wonderful. Terrific atmosphere!

We stayed at the Lucerna the weekend of April 17. I have to stay that we were pleasently surprised. We had not been to Mexicali as adults and were concerned for safety issues since we were 3 women traveling alone. The hotel is in a very nice area and close to countless restaurants and stores. All employees were friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a bungalow. The room was ver roomy, clean and well taken care of.

Would not think twice about staying at this hotel again.

At first I was skeptical about staying overnight in a border town, however the Lucerna was a nice oasis. Everyone was very helpful and everyone spoke English. The air temperature was 110 degrees so it was a relief that the pools were very relaxing and cool. The hotel is near grocery stores and restaurants, however a car helps in this part of town. The rooms in the hotel were nice, nothing out of the ordinary, but clean and nice. The breakfast was also very good, and plenty. Overall a very nice stay.
