i been only one time in Veracruz, so based on the internet webpage we dedcided to choose the playa paraiso hotel, it is not what we expected at all, we payed a little more for a room for our first 2 nights, the 3rd night we stayed in a normal room, but for our surprise this was the same room as the other... the pool is not clear i was afraid of going in, the beach in Veracruz is not as in cancun its very diferent as in other turistic places. the breakfast is a scam because there is no free buffet breakfast is only American breakfast included so they will bill you the difference. in one time we ordered half a kilo of shrimps to peel it was not as the half of the half... to make this comment short if your are and executive, mexican or american, don´t stay here.

We stayed at this hotel for one night in January 2007. We live in Mexico City and take frequent weekend trips around the country. This was our first trip to the Veracruz area, and we could not have been more disappointed in the hotel. The hotel website gives the impression of an attractive beachside resort, but that could not be farther from the truth. We paid $124 for a tiny room with a view of the parking lot. The bedsheets and bathroom walls were stained, the light fixture looked like it was about to fall out of the ceiling, the mattresses were lumpy, sagging and stained, and we kept our windows closed due to an overpowering sewer smell. This is what we would have expected for a $30 budget hotel, but the Hotel Playa Paraiso bills itself as a resort. The rate included a fairly decent breakfast. The beach area is tiny and dirty. We had planned to stay for the entire weekend, but cut our stay short. If you are looking for a place to stay on the Veracruz coast, there are much nicer options. Don't waste your money on this place.
