We stayed here for 3 days in March. The Pool was closed for painting, so there was no place to relax outside. There is no beach in this location, the water comes right up to the seawall. The rooms are very small, and only the 2 rooms on the front of each floor have a real water view. As the hotel was almost empty, we asked if we could be moved to a front room (I am a platinum member with Crowne Plaza) but we were told yes, but only for a large extra charge. The entire hotel has a musty smell to it. Watch out if you use the coffee maker in the room. The coffee is considered a part of the mini-bar, and you will be charged (even on the club level) even though there is no warning about this. After 3 days we moved to a GREAT hotel downtown on the Zocalo and really enjoyed ourselves. I do NOT recomend this location.

I stayed here for five days (with wife and daughter) and loved it. The pools are great, the restaurant is superb, and service was second to none. The beds were very comfortable, and the room has all you would expect for a hotel of this category. The only downside is that the beach is pretty much non-existent here, even though you are right on the water.

The hotel staff was also very good about providing us with info on local tourist attractions, especially some of the important historical sites. They can also arrange tours.

Another plus of the Crowne Plaza Veracruz is its location. It is right across the Mall of the Americas, which gives you a bunch of options for dining and shopping (including a Chedraui Supermarket, which is handy if you have left something at home). Do not waste your money at the overpriced hotel store, where a pair of swimming trunks will cost you fifty dollars or more. Also avoid the VIPS at the Mall--VIPS restuarants throughout Mexico are usually excellent, but the service at this one was awful.

This a very-well run hotel and is worth every penny.

We were attending a conference in Veracruz and this hotel is right across the road from the Conference Centre and a huge shopping mall. You're really taking your life in your hands crossing the road as it's really busy but they should now have finished building a walkway connecting the hotels on the Crowne Plaza side to the conference centre which should solve that problem.
The reception and bar area are nice and the outside area round the pool is really lovely. The dining room is very attractive and the food is very good. The rooms are average - most of the rooms don't seem to have a balcony which is a bit of a shame - the bathroom is again average but really all that was needed.
The staff were pleasant and helpful and made our stay here very enjoyable.

I went down to veracruz with my boyfriend who is originally from there, I am from NY. With a low % of customers from outside mx, I had low expectations of what the hotel may offer but I found a great quality hotel. Our rooms were wonderful, clean and nice bedding. Bed slippers and robes are an extra nice touch. We stayed on a sunday night and then returned again thurs and friday after a few trips to outlying areas. They gave us a coupon after the first night for a free night and we were allowed to use it later that week, not only that but they put us on the executive floor. Oh, and if you are a Mexican soccer fan, the opposing team to that weeks game was staying at the hotel providing many photo opportunities
