This resort is amazing! From the moment you pull into the driveway of the resort, you will feel like you are in another world. I traveled with a group of 4 adults over Labor Day weekend. The weather was sunny and hot every day, which was perfect for sitting on the beach or poolside. The resort is very new, so all the buildings are in excellent shape. The grounds are incredibly clean and well maintained. The landscaping is designed to make you feel like you are at a desert oasis, and it succeeds admirably. Scattered among the numerous pools are palm trees, cacti, and well-manicured lawns. There are two infinity pools that look out onto the ocean, and the beach is wide, sandy, and quite clean. The rooms themselves are exactly as pictured on the internet! Tile floors and granite countertops throughout the room. The kitchen had modern appliances and was stocked with everything needed to cook a meal. (pots, pans, utensils, etc.) When I was planning my trip, i found conflicting information on the Internet on the status of the bar, pools, other construction, etc. Let me assure you that everything is complete. All 5 pools and both hot tubs are in operation. The swim up bar is the most popular spot in the resort, and serves typical bar food like burgers, chicken fingers, and quesadillas. There is also a sandwhich shop which serves breakfast and lunch, as well as gelato. That said, there is not a real sit-down restaurant in the resort, but several other adjacent resorts do have very nice options and you don't need to go into the port to get a good meal. Because this is Mexico, everyone is concerned about water, but there was a large 10-gallon water cooler in our room for drinking. Not sure if this was supplied by the owner of our condo, or whether the resort provided it. In addition, we spoke to a former Arizonan who lived in Puerto Penasco and worked at the resort. He told us the resort does treat all of the water coming out of the faucets, so its safe to brush your teeth and wash dishes. Lastly, my group was 2 couples, and we stayed in a two-bedroom suite. BOTH the master bedroom and the "guest" bedroom have access onto the balcony, and look out to the Sea of Cortez. Before we left I did a lot of checking with other resorts, and this was the only resort that has this type of setup. So, if you don't want to have a fight with traveling companions over who gets to wake up to views of the ocean, this was the only place I found. The only negatives of this place are that there are not many activities. Jet skis can be rented on the beach directly in front of the hotel, and ATVs can also be rented nearby. However, the resort is on Sandy Beach, and the only thing out there are other resorts. If you're traveling with children, they may start to get a little stir-crazy after a couple days. If you just want to sit in the sun and relax for a couple days, you can't go wrong with this place. If you're looking to book this place, there are several travel agents that can get you rooms. A couple of the ones you'll find on the internet are based in Arizona. We booked through an agent called Seaside Mexico, who has an office on the property, and they had the most accurate information, and also the best pricing!
