Casa Monica is really a small two bedroom one bath apartment built over the garage of the proprietor's house. It has a huge roof deck which is great for viewing the constant tide motion on Cholla Bay and the birds that follow the tides. This is not a good swimming beach but it is good for shelling and clamming. Gretchen serves a hearty breakfast and she is able to direct you to great restaurants and shops that one might not find on one's own. A good restaurant is located right across the street. I'm used to B & B's where there is a bit of pampering such as luxury bedding and towels which this didn't have. I really didn't like sharing the jack and jill bathroom and I expected that the beds would be made and the wastebaskets (bathroom) emptied every day, which they weren't. There was neither wi-fi nor tv which may not a problem for many people. I probably won't stay there again, although I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others, especially birders.
