3 night stay for business. Room was in good shape and clean.
Ice machine was broken and seemed to be broken for quite a while. Had to walk to restaurant to get ice as no refrigerator in room and temp of 114 f. Lots of road construction and not easy to find a way to get into the hotel driveway.
Breakfast omelette bar is very good.

I stayed here for two nights for a wedding. The room was clean, comfortable, decently sized, and had a walk-out door to the garden area in the middle. This central garden was a great location for the wedding. The hotel itself was easy to find and was in a good location for Hermosillo--not too far away from Plaza Zaragoza and Catedral de la Asunción. I only had a little experience with the hotel food for the wedding and it was really good. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Around the hotel lots of roadworks and not easy to get to. A one night stay for business. My clients tell me that the "old" Holiday Inn gave up the franchise and that the "new" one was no where near as good. A "U" shaped complex around a pool and grassy area. I had been booked a Jr Suite with KS bed, but at my arrival time it was not available and I took a regular 2 bed room at the far end (away from the reception and restaurant area). Look like glorified motel rooms on two floors. AIrcon noisy and bathroom area smelly though appeared to be clean.
Staff helpful but not much English spoken apart from one or two of the waiters in the restaurant. Told alternatives are better and also better value.

You must remember that this is Mexico and even though some staff don't speak English then so be it and deal with it. The staff I dealt with were very nice and helpful. The room was very nice and clean. When you check in ask for a room close to the front in that the hotel is large and it is quite a walk from the back. I have stayed here many time and never had any issues. The breakfast (buffet) was average as is the food ordered by menu. The steak I ordered was chewy and NOT a rib eye as ordered. Sonoran beef is one item that is great but they serve a very lower class of beef. They MUST do something about this but my experience with Holiday Inns and there beef served is terrible except for my meal at the HI in Rosario Argentina. That was the best steak (room service) I have ever had. The only other thing was the free wireless internet was very slow.
