“Good experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

My husband and I recently travelled to Hermosillo for a wedding. SInce the reception was held at Hotel San Sebastian we, and many other guests including the bride and groom, stayed here. We spent 4 nights at this hotel. Our room, a Jr. Suite, was clean, comfortable and met our needs. Hotel staff often did have limited English, despite claims on their website, but we were able to get the information and help we needed with a bit of patience on both sides. The hotel is very secure. We ate at the hotel restaurant's buffet and found it very reasonably priced, convenient, and pretty good over-all. The food at the reception was very good and the service was quite attentive. This is not a 5 star hotel, but we would absolutely consider staying here again if we ever make it back to Hermosillo.

Room Tip: For the money, I'd definitely choose a Junior Suite.

“It'll do, I guess.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

First off, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE what so ever unless you know spanish! Angel at the front desk was the only one that was very helpful during my stay. I know I am in Mexico so I should know the language and I did try, at least meet me half way people. You knew English when you wanted to argue with me.

Front Desk: Angel great when he was working and when I called. Gaspar, Ay Gaspar, so RUDE and not helpful. When he noticed I spoke English he completely ignored me and did not want to help me check in so I was pond off to the next clerk. He said he didn't know English but all of the sudden the next night when he wanted to argue with me about the room payment he knew English. Esmeralda seemed like she was nice, but when I asked her to speak slowly in spanish so I could understand she seemed hesitant.

Rooms: Beds were hard as a rock, only 2 towels for a room with 3 people. I had to constantly ask for extra towels. One days I refused service and housekeeping still came in the room. Wi-Fi in the room was not a strong signal at all. Had to go outside to use my laptop.

Restaurant: The one time I ate there was a lunch buffet and it was okay. Some items were a little dry, but they were good. Reasonably priced. Service wasn't great there either.

When it comes down to it I will only stay here again if I have to with the group I am in, but not looking forward to it. For future business please try and come off a little more approachable and help those who do not speak spanish as a first language.

“Safe, comfortable and affordable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

We have stayed at his hotel at least 4 times coming in and out of Mexico. We chose it because of the security, the internet and the price...and because it feels clean.

“There Was No Heat And All They Would Do is Give Us a Space Heater”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 May 2010

It was a cold night in late December, 2007. The heater wasn't functioning so I went to the office for a room change. They claimed that there were no remaining rooms available and sent someone to the room with a space heater. Later I found out from other guests that they had no heat either, I've since lkearned that many Mexican economy hotels will not turn on the heat because they want to save money.

the food at their restaurant was - and still is - vile. Everything is buffet, and the food is incredibly bad. Complaining to the manager got me a smirk and a shrug. Real Salvation Army quality. Honest, the food is awful.

“Very nice, but noisey!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2009

This is a nice hotel at the southern end of town. It is convenient if you a heading north, and need a place to spend the night. The hotel is clean, nice, and safe, with gated parking. There is a resturant with a buffet, or you can order off the menu. I found the service to be excellent, but the food average. This trip the weather was cold when we got into town, and we found our room real cold (16* C), and there is no heat. The front desk sent a portable heater to our room, but it never got real comfortable. The beds are typical Mexican, hard!! The free wi-fi is a plus. The hotel was full, and more noisey then I remember from last year. I think next year I might try a different hotel.
