“Serene, Breathtakingly-beautiful spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2011

Under the new management of Stephanie and Mike McGuire, the Casa de los Suenos is undergoing a renovation. The location atop a cliff overlooking the Sea of Cortez is amazing and the Mexican breakfasts prepared by a native are wonderful. Our time there was spent kayaking for an entire day around the beautiful bays and islands and watching the moon amidst the stars from our balcony at night. Mike and Stephanie (and their two delightful children) are enjoyable company and gracious hosts. Everything was clean, even in the middle of the renovations. We highly recommend this wonderful B&B and would return ourselves if ever we are in that area again.

“House of Dreams?”

I gave a $450 deposit for a week in the "casita" and would pay the addtional $450 when I arrived. I was given GPS Co-Ordinates to find the location, but upon arriving found that there were 5 or 6 homes at this location and none of them had a sign saying Casa de los Suenos. We finally made contact with somebody just down the road and they said that it was located 5 or more miles away on a beach called Los Suenos. Finally found somebody there that told us that no indeed where we were was where we were supposed to be and added "good luck with that place!"
We returned and went down the described steep driveway and a Mexican lady finally emerged from a home and inquired if we were looking for this B and B. We tried to park the suburban out of the way of the neighbors driveway and made our way into the house. There we were taken through a strange room with three beds in it and then down to what was called their casita. I am not going to go into detail but it did not take us long to figure out that there is no way were going to be able to last a week in this room! it had a very depressing ambiance, and was furnished very poorly. The bed looked as if I would not have survived a night on it let alone 7 nights! Our hostess could not speak English but simply pointed at an iron spiral stair case as if this is where we were to bring our heavy luggage, the food that we bought, our fishing equipment and kayaks down. From there it would be another steep stair case down to a small cove on the water.
We decided that we would take the other $450 and get the hell out of there and find something more cheerful. Subsquently I have been told tough luck the $450 deposit is hers, which is her right and that I obviously do not have good judgement when it comes to accomodations! I own the most successful tour company in Napa California, and do business with the finest hotels in the world. When I go to Mexico I understand that you can not expect the same level of service and accomodations, however I know what is right for the money and to ask $900 for week in this room is an absolute shame. I would not recommend this to an enemy let alone a friend.

“Great B&B with spectacular views and great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2009

I had a great time staying at Casa de los Suenos for a second time. Elena is a wonderful chef, the food was delicious and filling. The views from the house are spectacular overlooking the bay. They have steps down to their own private beach with natural hot springs. There is a reef about a 1/4 mile out from the beach and it was awesome that I could go diving for clams. I decided to make my own adventure and gather my clam dinner which Elena happily prepared for dinner. The clams are in about 6 feet of water and I only took 5 minutes to gather enough for four people. I have not had this much fun in years. On the other had it was so relaxing to wake up in the morning and watch the bay, so peaceful. One morning I saw dolphins swimming in the bay. Elena said it was a frequent occurrence. Such a great experience this was my second time visiting, I would highly recommend this B&B. I plan on returning again for my next vacation.

There is a great B&B with spectacular views on the Bahia de Conception about 14 miles south of Mulege. It has access to the beach with hot springs and kayaks available for your pleasure. The knowlegeable and helpful hostess is Elena. Info may be found on the web at [--]

Rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Breakfasts are more like brunches and are served with a beautiful view from the kitchen or dining room of the home. You will be happy to spend a night or a week in this place.
