“A perfect getaway”

A brilliant B&B! We stayed in the King Size En Suite which had a fabulous sea view, perfect for watching the sunset. Other highlights of our room included white fluffy bathrobes, a heated towel rail, fresh milk and homemade shortbread (replenished each day!) The breakfasts were superb with generous portions and huge pots of tea and coffee. For dinner, Tim and Hilary offered to make a reservation for us at the Clansman restaurant in Port William, and the food there was delicious. Just before we left Tim even hosed down the car for us to get rid of the salt from the storm the day before! I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough and we will definitely be returning.

“Best B & B ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2011

Spent 2 nights at Hawthorne House in October 2011, it is without exception, the BEST EVER B & B I have stayed in. Tim and Hilary's attention to detail is so thoughtful and makes the experience of staying at Hawthorn House so much more than just a bed for the night. The house is warm and welcoming, as are the hosts!
The breakfast is better than many 4* hotels, I can recommend everything on the breakfast menu, especially the scrambled egg and smoked salmon, so do stay for more than one night and enjoy this very special B & B!

We're extremely pleased that you like it here. It was great to see both of you.
Hope your journey home was okay - and reasonably direct, inspite of stops for pottering and shopping - !
Thanks again.

“Top Class B & B”

Spent one night with Tim and Hilary in September 2011. Wonderful, warm and friendly welcome - much appreciated after a long journey. The entire B & B was spotlessly clean and their attention to attention is worth a mention. We took the 10 minute stroll in the evening to the local pub in Port William where we enjoyed a simple but tasty meal and passed the night away in the company of the most friendly of locals. The following morning we were presented with what can only be described a first class breakfast eaten overlooking the bay. Many thanks Tim and Hilary - A highly recommended B & B!
