This hotel is only about 5-7 years old but made to look 200 years old. It is very quaint with just 5 rooms all of varying sizes and prices. I stayed in the room entitled Neptune. Julia Roberts stayed in the room entitled Neptune when she was making "the Mexican" with Brad Pitt. Neptune has a fireplace. I bought some firewood (kinda green-but got it going) for 7 USD delivered to my door. in the winter the nights are very chilly and the room is very cold--but the rustic feel is well worth it. Good water pressure, hot water. Bed is King size and comfortable. There are few ameneties, but again, expected of this rustic hotel. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Wireless internet is available from a local coffee shop or in the hotel lobby. The signal did not reach Neptune. This hotel is probably the most expensive in Real de Catorce. you'll need to be in good shape to walk up and down the hill to the hotel as it is about 200 meters from the city center. I have stayed here 3 times. I recommend it. Just realize what you're getting into--rustic, quaint, more quiet than other options near the town square.
