“Attention Our reservation confirmed has been denied and the money not refunded”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2009

In November we saw the great reviews for Las Hadas in tripadvisor and we decided to spend 5 days of vacation at this resort. We had many emails with the sales person of Las Hadas and as the information and service of this person was very exceptionnal we were sure that we might have booked the perfect vacation. We asked to prepay 50% and should have paid the rest early January 2009.

On January 7 we received a mail from the sales person and he asked not to make anymore payments as there would be some trouble at Las Hadas.
On January 13 we received an email of a person who told us that she was the daughter of the owners and she warned us not to make any payments to the sales person as they ended the relationship to this man more than one month ago. She told us that he stole money from them and was cheating permanently. We answered that we already prepaid in November and would have a valid booking confirmation from the email address and website of Las Hadas. The daughter of the owners told us that they would not honor any reservation from this sales person and asked us to take legal action against this person.

We also communicated with the sales person. He obviously had worked for Las Hadas, then invested money and left Las Hadas in May 2008 but still helped the resort to get published on the market. He said that he completely filled the resort for holiday season for the first time since they exist and then had to discover that Las Hadas didn't work as it was supposed to. He said that he then got in trouble with the owners and finallly stopped relationship by January 13, 2009, but before warned all future guests that things were not working as promised and asked these guests not to make anymore payments. On January 13 he obviously shut down the website.

A very confusing situation for us and for a lot of other guests. We discovered that there was a couple planning their marriage for early March 2009 and their pre-payments from June 2008 and December 2008 of all together 6000 US$ should not get honored by the owners.
After some mails with the daugher of the owners she all of a sudden wrote to us that the sales person did never work for Las Hadas and never did the website for Las Hadas and did everything on his own. We answered that in an earlier mail she wrote that the relationship would have ended in Dezember - now she wrote that there had never been a relationship and from this moment she did not answer anymore.

The sales person sent several proves to us: A certified (by notary) statement of money transfers and he proved that even on January 5th he still transferred money to Las Hadas and Las Hadas confirmed on January 8 that they have received the payment. He also sent a certified (by notary) communication with the owners of Las Hadas and it seems as if the sales person invested money and had been threatened by the owners tghat they would not refund his investment - everything very confusing but very slowly we all discover that there's definitely something wrong with the resort and not with the sales person.

The sales person feels extremely bad. He tried to help as much as he could and in the end found another place for us in Puerto Escondido. He feels so bad that he is willing to refund our losses. He told us that he lost all of his money at Las Hadas and first will have to find a new job and earn some money and then refund our losses. We think of the couple who wanted to get married. For them it must be a nightmare and the sales person is actually helping to organize the marriage in a different place (even if he had to leave back to Europe).

There are even more people victim of this problem and they all are left alone by Las Hadas and we MUST warn everybody who read the wonderful reviews of Las Hadas - we do not know if these reviews are true but something definitely changed at Las Hadas and we now are in contact with the Mexican consumer protection authorities: Please do not ever make any payments to this hotel! Everything will be lost. Some of the other customers told us that they too would post reviews. Please be very careful; we lost 575 US$ and there are people who obviously lost 6000 US$. Please do not trust this hotel!

“<unbelievable how you still get such a service nowadays”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2008

We just return from a trip though whole Mexico. We were a group of 15 people from 11 different countries and wanted to connect real Mexico, culture, adventure and history. After a trip from Cancun via Merida, Campeche, Veracruz, then some days in Mexico City we wanted the relaxing part to happen at Las Hadas in teh State of Oaxaca and we cannot imagine that there would have been any better choice. If you grow up and live in Mid-Europe you cannot imagine that people have such a natural friendlyness and such a quality of service in their heart, always with a smile on the lips - this resort and its owners are just so natural hospitality people and do you want to know a secret? There`s everything above avaerage. A lot of people wrote already about the food but the food is even better. Everything from home-made tortilla chips with spicy salsa, guacamole, picatitas, nachos, the seafood soup to even pasta to a freshly grinded coffee from Chiapas, everything is very much above average. We booked the full meal package just for 2 nights and after trying dinner twice outside near Zicatela beach which is 25 minutes from Las Hadas we decided to have our meals at <las Hadas as there was no better choice.
We received a 33% discount for booking the full meal package and it is really worth.

Prices for drinks and additional services are very reasonable and we even received a massage at Las Hadas (they provide massage if you make a reservation 1 day in advance).

If you want to spend an emotional real Mexican vacation in a very balanced athmosphere with extremely nice food and very well maintained settings, very nice apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms then Las Hadas is definitely the right choice. We are now back in Playa del Carmen and we miss this special service 'all-inclusive is OK too but if you had the chance to enjoy this peronal service all-inclusive feels like a bad choice. :-)

“beautiful resort on the oaxacan coast”

Las Hadas has spotless, well-appointed rooms in beautiful grounds at a very reasonable price. My wife and I stayed four nights, and would have stayed more had we been able. It has a great swimming pool, and a beautiful beach and lagoon across the highway, with lots of birds and even sea turtles (protected by the local village). Victoria and Milo took great care of us, and Victoria is an excellent cook -- fresh-caught fish fillets, quesadillas with squash blossoms -- you name it! The resort is 20 minutes from Puerto Escondido, so it's very quiet and well-located for exploring this section of the Oaxacan coast. San Pedro Tututepec, a Mixtec kingdom the Spaniards never conquered, is a half-hour drive, as is Pinotepa Nacional, the main center of Afro-Oaxacan culture. Amazing lagoons, like Manialtepec and Chacagua, with lots of birds and wildlife, are very close, as are many beautiful beaches. If you want a great place to stay, whether just to relax or to explore Oaxaca's incredible culture, this should be at the top of your list.

After 3 nights at the Rinconada in uerto Escondido we decided to have the more laid back vacation - just ocean, pool and good food and at tripadvisor we read about Las Hadas. Well let me tell you a secret: The food is even better than they describe in the reviews. And once again it's an owner who offer this special gift - Victoria, owner and chef has the capacity to "beam" you into all gorgeous secrets of Mexican cusine. She'll finish you meal with the very special extra spice, extra care and extra taste and we seldom had visited any other place with such a tasteful cuisine. BRAVISSIMO! The units at Las Hadas are nice, spacious and very clean. There's a/c and a separate living room. It seemed to us as if Las Hadas Has the nicest and biggest pool in the PE area and the grounds are maintained perfectly. It's a place to remember and we'll be back soon.

“small, great deal, very nice people, biggest pool on the coast”

Our summer holiday happened to take part at Las Hadas, the fairy-place on the Pacific shores close to Puerto Escondido and we are happy that we did make this decision as we cannot imagine to have done a better choice. It already starts with reservation, with all possible and necesary information about Las Hadas, Puerto and Mexico, usefull help and fast answers whenever you need more information.
But this attitude continues at Las Hadas; it seems to us as if they read your wishes from your mind. Natural, friendly people, always in a perfect mood (even if it seems to us as if the curcumstances in Mexico and tourism are not easy; it is as if you're a part of the family and they are ready (Victoria, Ignacio, Tiofi or Angelica) to do everything for a perfect vacation. Maybe it is always like that in Mexico but we are used a more compplicated behavior from Mid-Europe, or Northern Africa or many other destination. Everything seems so easy and it seems as if there's nothing more logical than cook the most delicious meals in the world.
If you ask for a special rate and you stay more than 1 week they offer up to 3 days for free. Our hearts have been touched very much as you feel that the staff are simple people from the next village. We visited this village and everything is so traditional, wooden huts, house from wood, covered with palm trees and no electricity, and then these people give you such an amazing service. We're very grateful for this special experience at Las Hadas. We recommend this place absolutely to all people who wish a very special experience with emotions, an adventure for your senses and beautiful nature.
