when i first walked in the door and met Aaron i asked him about a room, he said come back tomorrow and we'll have one...so we did and they didnt have one. He put us in the 'spare' room which was big and with an en suite, also very cheap so we couldnt complain. On closer inspection it was pretty dirty and as the days went by i started to notice we had a few roomates....cockroaches!! NOT NICE! Needless to say the sleep quality for me wasnt great.
The pool is nice and theres plenty of games, books and a free pool table and table tennis to keep a sunburnt traveller happy.
Steve is a character....himself and Aaron both are pretty flakey. UI think i had to ask aaron 3 times over the week to change a bulb in the room.
The bar was good fun at night but Aaron does push drinking on you, and if your not in the mood he whines on at you about being no fun!
Definately too far from the beach. Taxis here there and everywhere but hey we got an extremely cheap deal

the pool is awesome. the common room is huge. if you have a sense of humor this is the place for you. Steve is hilarious, although if you are extremely PC you may wish to book elsewhere. he is likely to make up a personal nickname for you and use it mercilessly. :) i found this place to be the best hostel that we stayed at in mexico. the room and pool were great. it's a bit of a walk to the beach, but it's worth it. it is gorgeous. if you enjoy a dry wit and a place full of down to earth folks this is the place for you! also, steve gives better advice and directions (saving you tons of time and money) than your travel book...so put it Down! and have a great time!

Tower Bridge is the place to be in Puerto Escondido, Steve and Aaron are the most friendly people I ever met, so cool. They are independent bungalows and houses, full equipped, kitchen, toilet, and everything. You really feel like at home, and it is located in a very quiet part (Adoquin area), only ten minutes walking the most beautiul beach, Playa Carrizarrillo,what is THE ONLY ONE WHERE YOU CAN SWIMM, unlike to Playa Zicarrillo where it is forbbiden because of the big waves.
I really recommend that place!!

There is a reason this place isn't in any of the travel guides. We initially thought it was a great find - the bungalows were reasonably priced, there were several kitchens, a common area and a pool.

Our room was not very clean and harboured at least one cockroach. The kitchen turned out to be infested with ants - badly; every morning the stove and counter would be teeming with tiny red ants that bite. Also, Steve (the owner) was never actually there - he would recruit one traveller to 'work' for him in return for a free bed in the dorm, but this person would only collect the money and couldn't resolve any problems or contact Steve. There was nobody to go to with a problem.

Also a dog and four cats (three of them kittens) live at the hostel. The dog was pretty relaxed, but the cats were starving. They were literally skin and bones and would jump up on the table when you were eating. Basically they were all just really neglected.

Lastly, the location sucked - any money you save on accommodation you will spend on taxis.

That being said, most of the people staying there were really friendly; the travellers gave the place a good atmosphere which I appreciated.
