“not as friendly as they advertise it to be”

Good location, beautiful wooded camping area to bad for the less friendly staff. We were there for two nights and the first night we were threatened to be kicked out by the night security guard for being to noisy (there was no music at all, just 5 people having a few laughs). To be fair it was 12 o'clock at night, but a simple "keep it down" would have done the job. There was no need for the sarcasm and the threats... A good piece of advice would be to tell you to bring earplugs (not because of us :) but because from 4 am onwards you will notice all the hungry crow chicks above your tent and then later the lawn mowers and rubbish truck). Also do not place your tent or car under the crow nests in the trees because you will be sorry later... I would recommend this place because maybe for us it was just an unfortunate misunderstanding and working in tourism myself I get to see both sides of the problem.

“Great location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 May 2011

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom static caravans (Rio) that you can hire for 5 nights. The caravans were new for 2011 apparently and we could not fault it at all. Very clean and tidy, very well equipped with everything you need including central heating for chilly evenings and mornings! Probably a little more expensive than some of the others we found but we went for this one as it 'seemed nicer' than others we researched and the location looked good. Great location, right on top of Durdle Door (which is stunning but real shame about the litter strewn beach) but Lulworth Cove and the surrounding areas are just stunning. An absolutely lovely few days spent in this part of the country with my family. Will definitely return and would recommend this caravan park as a great base. Nice little childrens playground plus a little shop and bar/restaurant (that we didn't eat in but we did have a drink in one night and it seemed friendly and a nice atmosphere).

“Definatley recomend and return to”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2011

This is the first time we have ever stayed at a 'proper site' in our vehicle, and had a wonderful time, quiet apart from the aforementioned crows!!
The site wasn't too busy - as we arrived on the bank holiday mon and stayed til the thus, ( the motorhome / campervan) Abbeyfield it is very clean and the showers / toilet block must have been recently renovated as they were really clean and tidy, warm showers in the evenings - much needed after long walks, would recommend spending the little extra if you've a campervan and get a premium pitch, (which we didnt really think about) as our pitch was a little slope which made things fun!

I cant comment on the camping or perm caravans.

The shop looked pretty well stocked, but they'd run out of cider one night and had very limited choice of lager, but lots of wine, however I do appreciate it was just after the bank hol weekend, and they had a delivery the next day, so we went to the bar this night and it seemed relaxed and the staff were friendly.

Would definatley recommend and return to this site if we are in this area again

“Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2011

Stayed at the durdle door campsite for a long weekend in one of there sub letted static caravans. The caravan was Very clean we took are two dogs and stayed in a caravan which was dog friendly, very reasonable price, the shop was a little low on stock but I think that was because it was low season and the site had just opened. We will certainly be returning again this year

“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2010

Stayed at this Holiday Park for one week in September in a static 2 bedroom. The site is in a fantastic location, walking distance to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.
We travelled as a family with a 2yr old, the site was very clean and the facilities great. Playground for the children, bar and resurant and a takeaway on site. The site also has a Costcutter shop.
The static caravan was very clean and modern with full central heting, one of the best we have stayed in.
Our top days out were to Monkey World, Corfe Castle to Swanage on the steam train and time on the beach at Durdle Door (It will keep you fit if carrying a 2yr old up and down the steps!!)
A very enjoyable holiday.
