Hamnøy is 5 km from Reine which is good because it is calm and quite from the more popular Reine. Not far from the rorbuer, there is shop that sells fresh seafood and a killer salmon sandwich in Sakrisøy.
The cabin is so cute, we stayed in Reiderbua which does not have a direct view but you can see the sea anyway. It is equipped with kitchen, bathroom, a bedroom with bunk bed and a very comfortable sofa. The hotel also recommends us to use the car rental service which only costs us 500 nok per day, plus the guy is super cool, business based on trust. People in Lofoten are very nice.
Eliassen cabin has given us a real Lofoten experience and this is the best vacation ever. We really don't want to leave this island.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- There is a place on Earth where the Sun never sets, the Northern lights never cease to amaze, and the landscape changes constantly, the wind never stops blowing and the people always smile. These are the Lofoten. Eliassen Rorbuer is a holiday resort with fishermen’s cabins, enjoying the longest tradition in the tourist industry in Lofoten. We offer accommodation in a traditional fishermen’s cabin camp, in the most beautiful western part of the Lofoten Islands. It is situated on the tiny island of Hamnøy in Western Lofoten, the Moskenes municipality. The island is the last one in the archipelago to have the road link. Currently the Lofoten Islands are mainly associated with fishing, which takes place from January to April, alongside the entire archipelago. All of our cabins are new renovated and got a new floor, kitchen, bathroom and furnishings. Welcome to refreshed Eliassen Rorbuer! ... more less
