City Express is a chain that caters primarily to Mexican business travelers. What it lacks in charm it makes up for in efficiency. When we entered our room we thought we were in Sweden or Germany. Neutral colours and everything worked. Very quiet. You can even drink the tap water. The combined AC heater works well and you do need both heating and cooling at this time of year. Overnight temps were 0 C and daytime up to 25 C. The included breakfast was adequate. Fruit, cold cereal, yoghurt, pastries, pancakes heated in the microwave, something that looks like coffee.
Just in front of the hotel are a few Mexican restaurants in a park about 2 blocks long. The restaurant on the right coming out of the hotel was the best of the bunch. The hotel is walking distance to the Zocalo (10 minutes) and a couple minutes walk to Paseo San Francisco. We found Taxi fares in puebla to be really reasonable, between 30 and 45 pesos depending on distance, so we used taxis a lot.

City Express runs a smooth operation. Courteous staff, free parking, free wireless Internet, free breakfast - all at a very reasonable rate.
I really liked the location which is a five minute walk to all sorts of attractions including shopping and a movie theater.
My room had a view of Popocatpetl. What more could I ask?

I prefer to stay in a clean, nice located, with all of the basic ( tv, condition air, shampoo, complimentary water bottles, etc) and save with price and then going nearby for dinner, shops, etc This way the City Express Puebla is the best option, very close to downtown, with a big parking, and light breakfast included ( coffee, fruit, cereal and pancakes) If you want a decent hotel just to rest, sleep and take a bath before going out and walk around, its a very good option

The City Express hotel was a very nice to stay at. The hotel was away from the busy streets and directly across the street from the San Francisco church. It was within walking distance to the new mall which had excellect dining selections and Sanborn's was close by. We were also able to walk to the zocollo which was a 8-10 minute walk using the pedistrain bridges over the busy streets of Puebla.
The staff was courteous and friendly. The breakfast was fair. The breakfast included fruit, yogurt, toast and waffles.
The only problem we had was we had one dirty towel. The cleaning lady came very late in the evening. One night we came back at 6:00 pm and our room had not been cleaned. We had to come back later and it was cleaned.
