Dollar for dollar this was a good deal. The hotel is large and clean, breakfast was able, a/c worked. Had some difficulty with internet access, but the business center is easy and available. The hotel is 2.5 miles from downtown. You can always get a cab right out front and is never costs more than $7.00 and usually $5.00 (US) to go anywhere, so you just take a cab. The InterContinental Hotel’s side door is directly across the street and there are a couple of restaurants there including Alfredo di Roma (the inventers fettuccini Alfredo). There is a Mexican Walmart four blocks down 37 Norte street on Prolong Reforma Sur, which has everything you might need including a bakery and other groceries. I found that English is not readily spoken, but the Hotel does as well as anywhere. Despite the language barrier, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The language problem is an issue when you are trying to make tourist plans, you often think something is understood when it is not. The Hotel has a heated pool, warm if not deep. If you are thinking about a tour and they tell you the minimum number is six when you only have four, divide the total price (the six) by four and it still will be worth it.
