“Close, but no cigar...”

The good..
The trip could have been perfect. The room is excellence. The bellboy was amazing and helpful and spoke perfect English. We used the laundry service and it was excellent, same-day and easy to use. We had no problems switching to king-sized bed. Our balcony overlooked the Cathedral and the Govenor's Palace. Perfect location, great neighborhood. The room was amazing and very clean. The bed very comfortable. Everything felt very secure. You are offered one bottled water for free each day and one coffee during your stay. Room was serviced daily appropriately and always clean. They offer a great aroma therapy basket of goodies and any amenities that you need. The value for what we paid with priceline.com was amazing. The room comes with a very easy to use and secure safe.

The bad...
The bathroom is not very well ventilated.
We booked through priceline.com and our receipt was not honored. We tried at check-in and was told that it was not a receipt. A little flustered from our travels, I allowed a new charge of $7000 pesos be placed on my credit card and figured I could be wrong (this also allowed for incidentals, which is a required part of stay). We were told it was just an itenerary. During our time there, we checked our records again, to find that it was indeed paid for as we had stated earlier. We took this to the front desk again the night before check-out and was told that they would bring it to the manager and have it ready by morning but again, that there was nothing they could do because it was not a receipt and even if it were we should have showed it at check-in. The next day, at check-out, they tried to charge us again and told us it was not a receipt. My husband stepped in at this point and we were finally able to get it taken care of. But it was a huge stress the entire trip, knowing we had already paid for it and being charged again and being charged a much larger amount than what was agreed upon at that. How are there not records in their system that we had paid?
Also, I had asked staff twice about the location of business center to print more proof and was told there wasn't one. When we were checking out, we were allowed to use the business center to print another receipt but the printer doesn't work. I don't understand why we weren't directed to it sooner.

In general...
Priceline needs to reconsider this as a hotel they work with. Had we booked through the hotel, our negative experience would have not occurred.
The location of the hotel is ideal. I don't feel that it could be better for seeing the city.
The city is wonderful. Loved it.
The elevation is high and we got sick. Don't be surprised about this if you're not used to the elevation.
Also, know that there are bands the might play out of your hotel room. The room does a good job with having heavy-duty doors that block out most of the noise. It's ideal for soaking in the culture, not so ideal if you are trying to sleep. We enjoyed it for the most part but it got quite loud on the weekend.

“Great Hotel, Great Location”

I stayed at this hotel from June. 9, 2010 + June. 11, 2010. It was my mother, my sister, my daughter and I who went to this trip to get to know the City of Zacatecas. I had read many reviews here at Trip Advisor and this hotel was the only one that got my attention due to being cross the street of the Catheral, plaza and the Government building. By the hotel there is lots of stores to go shopping, take a stroll and see all the beautiful architectural design of the buildings and how clean the city is. Impressive! It is also walking distance to the Mine "El Eden" where they have a beautiful display of rocks found in caves, a store and a club (yes, a club in the mine). Once, we finised with that tour, it ended where we can catch the Teleferico (cable baskets) that took us to another far away mountain were there was a lot more things to see and where Pancho Vill fought with the solider and won the battle. Zacatecas has a lot of interesting history and lots of things to see. If your passing by the city don't miss those tours. My family and I had a great adventure!!! Good Luck!!

“I will go back to Emporio”

PLUS FACTOR:
Room is beautiful.I can't help but notice the silver lampshade base and the light fixtures on the walls. Chamber maids did their duty of making the rooms tidy and clean. Pub has an intimate and warm ambiance and good singer.Buffet breakfast fare is excellent tasting and authentic. It would be nice if you add ponche to your beverages especially at night when it's chilly.Receptionists are accomodating, helpful and courteous.Horel location is perfect.

MINUS FACTOR:
Bar tender(s) needs improvement as far as service is concerned.Don't recycle leftover peanuts from customers pls.( I saw him doing it)., and learn how to mix more drinks pls..I had my laptop with me but where's the WI-FI? Corridors need major renovation , I suggest replacing the carpet with wood or tiles and brighter lighting pls.
