A third time back to an exceptional place and a stunning location. A family run hotel that is so evident with the needs of their guests and the ' personal touch '. We had some friends visit for lunch, nothing was too much trouble, the conservatory was laid up and we dined on the best roast beef sandwiches ever. A visit is a must.

The Sun Bay Hotel is in a wonderful siutation overlooking the bay and a short walk from the small village. Hotel owners and staff very helpful and friendly. Guest lounge, bar and restaurant very comfortable with a terrace overlooking the bay. Fantastic food!

How fortunate to find such a lovely hotel in such a superb setting overlooking Inner Hope Cove and right on the South West coast path, what more could a single lady and her spaniel want other than a hotel which welcomes single travellers allows dogs to sleep in the room with you and sit in the lounge with you whilst you get to know your fellow guests in the evening it felt to me a very sociable hotel where nothing was to much trouble, the spaniel made herself right at home making friends with everyone.
I did leave my spaniel in the car when eating in the restaurant in the evenings and at breakfast time, the food I must say was very nice with a good choice and the staff serving are very attentive and helpful.
The room i stayed in was at the back of the hotel but leave the window open and the sound of the sea fills the room which was great, perfectly adequate room with duvets on the beds, tea & coffee making facilitys, hair dryer, bath with shower over and tv, for the time I spent in the room it was just what I required.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a break especially if you are walking minded like myself the walk along the coast path to Salcombe has spectacular scenery but if you just want to sit and be mesmerized by the sea then that is also fulfilled by sitting out the front of the hotel, a short stroll takes you to the beach or into Outer Hope Cove where you will find a shop and pub.
I met some very nice people at this hotel and several were returning guests which just shows it's a place worth returning to and I can safely say after the 2 days I have stayed there I will definetly be a returner in the near future.
