“Go For the Space Ship!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I was in Cabo about a couple weeks ago with one of my closest friends from elementary school. I wish I was able to stay longer but I only had 3 days of vacation to consume. My friend had a timeshare in the place that enabled me to have a free accommodation, in essence.

The place was nice and I was really in love with the pool bar where I spent most of my time. I also had fun at the space ship like basket where you can just lay, technically under the sun but with enough shade to avoid sun burn. Food was outstanding and their mojitos are just incredible.

If given a chance, I would go back in a heart beat. Cabo Azul definitely did a fantastic job.

Room Tip: Get the sea view suite. It's amazing!

“going to the chapel...”

My fiance and I travelled with a group of 35 to Cabo Azul from Florida to do a destination wedding on 10-1-11. We wanted a beautiful chapel to get married in, yet a fun atmosphere. We got exactly what we were looking for.

The hotel- amazing. The beds were so comfortable that we actually tried finding them in the states! The rooms were very spacious and comfortable with large bathrooms. The lighting is dim, but you can open your balcony sliders for more natural lighting. We loved all of the beautiful textures around the place. The food was awesome. We loved the swim up bar! Honestly, never walked away from a meal disappointed and it was not unreasonable. The 3 infinity pools were crucial during this hot time of year. They have mattresses in the pool to lay out on that were romantic. Our party went to Javiers and watched the Rays play on their plasma which was fun. You can also ride horses along the beach. No swimming due to the rip tides. My favorite part was the spa. It was to die for!! Definitely treat yourself. Best massage and you can use their facilitiesas long as you want. They give you privacy forthe sauna and hot tub. I would go back for the spa!! I would go back for one other thing, too....

The staff. After spending a week there, you know the empolyees very well. Juan Carlos was a favorite and everyone in the spa area. The day of the wedding i was a bit overwhelmed ands happy al in one emotion. They gave me a special aromatherapy to calm me down. So special. I will never forget the little things. Such great people and hardest workers that make sure that it is spotless.

Cabo Azul for the beautiful resort, staff, location to a great downtown, and decadent spa get a 5 staR rating. I only gave it 4 stars due to the wedding planning.

If you are planning a wedding with Cabo Azul please be aware of the following (and get everything in writing) :
1. We had a bar tab of over $100/person and it went like water. This was because they gave everyone Fiji water at $6 a piece. This was never talked about. The water is fine to drink at the resort.

2. I asked if we could keep the left overs from the buffett that we provided. They took it and gave it to their staff later that night.

3. They will not negotiate pricing and for our multiple rooms for our party we recieved nothing. Not a free night, not a complimentary spa treatment, not a bottle of wine....nothing.

4. Also, we flew a videographer out and in his wedding video we had alot of background waterfall noise from in the chapel...it made it extremely hard to hear our vows.

Hope this helps plan a perfect stay in one of the most romantic places in the world!

“An Exponentially Better Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My Girlfriend and I of 2 years decided to select Cabo Azul Resort based on a high recommendation from friends. Little did i know it would far exceed our expectations and our desires for a Mexican vacation. We both found the layout of the rooms and view of the ocean to be the best on the San Jose coast. All of the staff were very accommodating and generous to our needs and were very prompt with anything in handling anything that we needed. Our walk along the quiet and non-crowded beach gave us a view of all the resorts along the coast lines and only concreted our decision in Cabo Azul. The exciting party life of Cabo San Lucas was a convenient by taxi when needed, however we soon found ourselves craving the peace, quiet, and exclusivity of Cabo Azul. We spent most of our vacation along side the amazing pools, walking the beautiful quiet beach, eating amazing authentic Mexican food, and living the life of luxury at the 5 star spa all while staying with in the beautiful and secure resort. There is NO QUESTION that when i do plan a vacation to the Cabo San Lucas are, i will be placing a reservation at Cabo Azul. The convenience and availability to everything the baja peninsula has to offer is unparallelled to anything in the area :) . Highly recommend Cabo Azul

“Adoro Cabo Azul”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We returned to Cabo Azul recently and were fortunate to stay in one of the magnificent ocean view penthouses in celebration of my husband's birthday and to accommodate two groups of friends during the week. Each guest was stunned by the accommodations upon entering and each of us was saddened when it was time to leave. Every moment and interaction at the resort was superb, from the rooms, to the magnetic balcony (where I am entranced by the sound of the crashing waves), the impeccable grounds, the fantastic spa and fitness center, Flor de Noche (Javier's was undergoing renovation) and the golden beach - honestly the sand has a magical glitter to it. The proximity of San Jose del Cabo and Mega Mercado (we loved the handmade tortillas) are a plus, although it's only a short distance to Cabo San Lucas for those that wish to enjoy classic activities of the region, such as parasailing and cruises. Our concierge Paola assisted us with every detail and without exception every member of the staff greeted us and saw to our needs with genuine smiles and attention to the smallest request. On this occasion we enjoyed highlights both new and old. Cabo Wabo and the Hard Rock Cafe are required stops for my husband, the drummer. This year he fulfilled his wish to fly with a parasailing experience arranged by Paola (for an excellent price) and I braved my fears while photographing him soaring over The Arch. Tropicat, also booked through Paola, was such a convivial experience. We roamed the Mercado while waiting to board and the two hour cruise was fantastic. Nice wine, piped jazz, good hors d'ouevres were elevated by the crew who made us feel that they celebrated our presence and truly wanted us to have the finest experience possible, particularly stopping the boat for excellent photo ops and the gift of a few surprising whale sightings.
