“Royal Solaris Los Cabos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We have been coming here for 5 years, this is the best. You are close to airport and transportation is included. The staff is friendly and very helpul. Today we took the house tour which was great and always is great. Food has always been very good. The beach is great here, very quiet and peaceful. For an all-inclusive this is the best by far!

Room Tip: Ask for oceanfront rooms.

“Clean Resort, OK Food, Amazing Staff!”

Food:
The Food was average. There isnt that much variety in terms of dinner and lunch. The outdoor restaurant is only open during certain times. The breakfast in the Cafe Solaris is awesome. Lots of variety, fresh food and good service. It is open until 11. Rosa makes a great omelet and is really popular. The dinner was really boring except for when there was a show in the theatre. If you don't eat red meat then it is tough becuase there isn't as much chicken to choose from. There is the bar available by the pool but most of it is Cheese Fries and Salsa! I didn't try the pizza and was weary of the other hot items there because they are out all day.

Drinks:
Find a bartender you like and stick to them. The swim up bars are great. Ariel is great. The lobby bar doesn't open until 11am and they are quite strict about that. They have a great cappichino in the morning. Antonio in the sports bar makes awesome drinks. We would go to him in the evenings for our dose of alcohol.

Pool:
The pool is pretty awesome with a swim up bar. There are no bugs and the water is a decent temperature. If you want a secluded quiet pool away from the kiddies, there is a small pool by cafe solaris and a small hot tub. There are a lot of kids in the regular pool...

Resort:
The resort is super clean. The gardens are amazing. When you compare them to the other resorts in the area this is by far the best maintained resort and gardens. The grass is green! There are gardeners who maintain the gardens all day!

Staff:
The staff is awesome. They are really friendly and appreciative of tips. Ruben is a caretaker and a waiter, He is amazing. works 14 hour days and always has a smile on his face. Ariel, Antonio, Angel, and Neilson were great bartenders. Rosa at breakfast will make your day!

Room:
The room was pretty clean! The maids did a great job maintaining it. They changed our sheets everyday! There was never a bug in sight. The wash room was clean too. The shower is brick. There was one occasion where there was no water coming out of the shower head but I came back after a few hours and it was fine.

Entertainment:
The night shows were amazing. The dancers are really good. They had dinner first and then had the shows. The best thing to do is line up early so that you get in! The day time entertainment is .... well... there isnt any! So drink and find somthing else to do during the day cuz the entertainment team is geared mainly towards children.

TIPS
Avoid the time share people. Just walk past them. Ignore any free gift cards that come to your door.

Tip early so that you get good service. Be loyal to the bartenders and they will take care of you.

Buy tours from your travel people - If you travel with Air Canada then Demetro with the Air Canada shirt will help you. Don't trust people at the Marina with their deals. Also, be weary of going on the glass bottom boat. They drop you off at the island and pick you up in 45 min or an hour....but what if they leave you there? We never went. We took the Caboray boat cruise to see the arch and that was awesome!

ENJOY have fun on your trip!

“February 3-12th stay @ Royal Solaris Los Cabos”

Easy access from the airport. I have never stayed at a hotel where staff went out of their way to see to your every want. The food was plentiful and enjoyable. The hotel maintained an on call Dr. on staff. Always something going on night and day. Traded our timeshares from Wyndym Resorts to Royal Solaris because of soo many more amenties and no annual fees. The all inclusive trip requires training in pushing away from the table due to all inclusive access to food and drink. The amenties of the town were also fantasic and easy to to get to. The various trips and outings were not to be bewlieved, especially "whale watching," snorkling, and sunset cruises. MOST IMPORTANT were the the type of people that vacationed in our resort-absolutely the friendliest, kindest, and considerate families, couples, and individuals I have ever encourtered on any vacation I have beeen on. My wife and I loved it so much we joined and look forward to Solaris stays in Cancun, Puerta Valerta, and soon to be Costa Rica. Our membership gives access to hotels and any type of vacation around the world-however, for me, Los Cobos is right where I want to stay. One last thing, the housekeeping staff, especially Conchita, and the staff waiters made my wife and I feel like Royalty-Hence Royal Solaris.

“Very Enjoyable”

Ok, so right off the start let me say that after reading soooooo many bad reviews about this resort I was worried about staying there, but it was booked and paid for so there was nothing I could do to change it. I guess its true, dont believe everything you read.

We booked this trip through AirCanada, a Rep was there as soon as we stepped out of the airport to meet and take us to the bus for the Solaris during the ride to resort the AirCanada Rep warned us about all the timeshare people, told us about the area and said if we needed anything to come talk to them at the AC booth in the hotel lobby.

This is our 4th trip to Mexico, and I have to say this was the fastest, stressfree check in that we have ever had, no hassles.....braclets on right away, we took our own bags to our room we didnt wait for the bellboy to bring them. Total check in time maybe 5 mins.
Not once in the 2 weeks we were there did a timeshare person approach or hassel us.

Our first room was on the 5th floor(the floors are confusing though)and was a part oceanview, but it also looked into the backside/cement wall of the other hotel......the one thing I do like on my ocean holiday is a good view plus our friends were on the other side of the resort and I wanted to be closer. I went to the desk and asked to move rooms, it was not a problem all I did the next morning was go down to the desk and ask to be moved. We were moved to room 136 ground floor, great view and a king bed the only problem after a 5 days was I couldnt stand the sewer smell coming from the bathroom once again I go to the desk tell them the issue about the smell and we are moved to room 322, there was never a hassle from the front desk about moving rooms, I really appreciated this, because I can be very picky about my hotel room.

The food was resort food....not bad....not great, but there was always lots to chose from at the nightly buffet (mexican night was the best) the part I really did not like was the long tables, it reminded me a high school cafeteria. The nightly shows in my opinion were not worth watching.
The breakfast buffet was very good lots of choices, ask for bacon if you would like it. Martin was very nice and took care of all our needs. The view while eating is wonderful, sit outside if there is room. The drinks were ok, if you wanted more liquor all you had to do was ask.
The snack bar by the pool was good, just watch that your hamburger is cooked if thats what you choose to eat, we liked to get a plate of snacks from here and take it to our spot on the beach, Jorge always made sure our drinks were full.
We ate at Marco Polo one night, the food was ok but we didnt go back again.

Yes, the beds are hard, treat yourself to a massage. Yes, the pillows are hard, but there is 5 on the bed pick the one you like best. The fridge was stocked every day and the room was always very well cleaned.

The Solaris grounds are beautiful, are are impeccably looked after from the rooms, the lobby, the pool and all the eating area's very clean and well maintained.

I would defiantly stay at this resort again.
