“Simply Beautiful”

First of all, if you are looking for all-inclusive, this is not the place for you, as there is no restaurant or bar service on the premises. We have stayed at many places throughout Mexico, but none of them have been as beautiful as Las Mananitas. We stayed in a 3-bedroom (3503) that had incredible views from every room.....miss it already! The rooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. The pools were wonderful as well. There is a swim up bar in all of the pools, with icemakers, sinks, and refrigerators so that you can bring your own food/drink and have a pool party. The Mega store is a few minutes walk up the street if you want to buy groceries and wagons are provided to tote them back. The staff at Las Mananitas are very friendly and helpful. Nice indoor gym, putting green by one of the pools, and outdoor tennis/basketball court.....rackets and balls provided. The location is great. On the beach, close to town, the bus stops right in front (7 pesos to go into the center of town).

Restaurants are much more expensive in the Cabo area than other parts of Mexico. We went to Zippers down the road, nice view, but not impressed with the food. Ate in Cabo and then at a few local taquerias. The best meal we had was at "The Container" located at the new marina in San Jose del Cabo. My husband and son caught some tuna and dorado earlier in the day and brought it to the restaurant. The tuna was prepared as sashimi and the dorado 2 different ways (garlic and italian with olives). At $6 a plate, my only regret was that they didn't catch the fish earlier in the trip for us to eat there almost every night! A superb dinner and several drinks for 5 was under $70!!!

As for adventures, we did the Oceanus Minisub Dive tour, Baja's ATV tour (2-1/2 hours was really about 4 hours of fun) and the Costa Azul zipline and rappel. Lots of fun, we would recommend all of them.

Cabo is full of mega resorts where you are trapped in compounds. The town is full of bars, restaurants and tourists......if you are in your 20's and like to party all the time, this is the place for you. San Jose is a quieter location for those who have already seen all the touristy stuff. As I mentioned earlier, we have been all over Mexico and were happy with our decision to stay in San Jose del Cabo. If we ever go back to the area, we would definately stay at Las Mananitas.

“Very nice but... not for family with teens”

We recently stayed at Las Mananitas room 107 which was located on the ground floor. We were traveling with our three teens and one extra. We had plenty of room in this condo. Condo was very nice, three bedrooms. Beds alittle hard but not so bad you couldn't sleep. Upon arrival at condo we had beer and pop in fridge along with a well stocked bar including everything for margaritas. I thought that was really awesome!!! Before leaving we made sure we replaced everything we used so was all set for next visitors. Condo also had all the necessities for cooking including spices etc.. so if cooking you didn't need to buy everything. Mega store is 5 minute walk they have everything. Great bfast pastries, donuts, fresh bread. You can buy fresh salsa, guac and chips all great prices. Starbucks is right there too!
Also in the condo are two beach chairs a beach umbrella and beach towels. Having a washer and dryer were a plus too!
The grounds at Las Mananitas are just beautiful. Nicest pool, hot tub, everything was very well kept and spotless. The ocean surf is too much though. really can't swim there. We have always stayed at all-inclusives but decided we wanted to try the condo way since our kids are now bigger. We were staying during spring break and well you wouldn't know it as Las Mananitas. First few days we were the only ones by the pool. Felt like our own private resort which was nice but.. we still like to chat and meet people so this was the only downside. Boring for the kids. Seems more of an adult atmosphere as more people came.
Cabo very easy to get around. We rented a vehicle during our stay so we were always out and about on excursions. Go to Chileno Bay (snorkeling), Cerritos Beach (surfing), Todos Santos and Medano Beach Club in Cabo (rent jet ski for $50 2 people 45 mins)

“Stay here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2009

I stayed at Las Mananitas with a group of friends in August 2009, and it was fantastic. Because it was the low season we had the place almost all to ourselves. The condo was beautiful and was in great condition. We rented through a private owner and not through the management company, but the staff at the front desk and around the property were still very helpful and accomodated any request we had. The complex is also a short walk to a large grocery store which was great for stocking up on groceries and cooking at home.

The beach was also amazing. Before going I had read that the water might be unswimmable, but this was not the case at all. Even though the surf is supposed to be rougher in the summer we were in the water every day without a problem. One person in our group is a former ocean lifeguard and he assured us it was safe. There is a steeper drop off down the beach in front of the hotels, but in front of Las Mananitas it was perfect.

“Wonderful piece of Paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2009

My husband and I had an opportunity to stay at the Las Mananitas in July '09. We got a terrific rate on the 1900 sq ft condo. Our room , #302 , was tastefully decorated with new furniture and new stainless steal appliances. We had a wonderful view of the ocean making our morning coffee so peaceful. The grounds and pool at the Mananitas were looked after daily. There is a little fridge and ( an ice maker,) at the pool for you to put your cold drinks or food into. There is also a couple of BBQ's by the pool for everyone to use.

The beach is very large and fairly steep going down to the ocean. The sand is softer as you get closer to the water. As for being able to swim in the ocean..... I'd say you'd better not. The under tow is fairly strong.... but playing in the waves is fun. The water temp. is really warm this time of year making if feel much like a bathtub!!

There are a lot of great restaurants close by and downtown . We ate at the Pizzeria by the Mega store and a cute little Taco Restaurant. Both were very good and very reasonably priced.

Getting groceries are easy to get, even if you don't have a vehicle to drive. The "Mega" store, which by the way has everything but the kitchen sink, is only a few blocks away. Be warned that almost everywhere you go in San Jose/Cabo there are "Time Share" guys all over the place trying to get you to attend one of their spiels! We were even approached at the airport . This is their tactic..... "do you need a cab" you answer "yes" Then they bring you over to a counter where they try to get you to attend. Also be prepared to spend $50 for a cab ride. We paid $50 to get to our Condo, which was only about 15 - 20 min's away and another $50 to get back to the airport!

Over all our visit to San Jose/Cabo was great! We definitely would go back and recommend San Jose for a relaxing vacation!

“very home-like vacation”

We took our 3 daughters to Cabo for Spring Break week. We had sought the advise of friends who own property in the area and recommended Las Mananitas. We were quite pleased with the ease of the reservations and helpfulness of the staff in booking a last minute trip. We were very comfortable and happy in a large 2 BR, 2 BA unit in Phase III on the 3rd floor. All previous reviews are truthful. It was clean, well decorated (on the contemporary side). Everything was NEW, appliances, washer/dryer, furnishings, flat screen TVs and satellite - just in case your kids cannot miss Disney or Nickelodeon!! Bedding and linens were very nice. Water is purified and filtered so no worries there. Water pressure and AC very impressive for Mexico! Phase III is not right ON the beach, but was lovely. We could overlook the pools, the grounds and still see the sand and waves. Phase I, directly on the beach, seemed too loud for me as the surf is very rough and noisy. Phase II seemed to have street noise, so Phase III, even though a little bit further from the beach, seemed just right (starting to sound like Goldilocks!!). I even fell asleep on the comfy chaise lounge on the terrace more than one evening to the sound of the waves on the beach - very peaceful. There is not a lot to do, see or walk to from LM except the Mega (grocery mart) and a couple of restaurants. Oldest daughter became just a little bored at the end of the week. Younger kids will enjoy going to each and every one of the 3 swimming pools and playing putt-putt. Some vendors on the beach - not many, not bothersome (kind of wish there were more!). Activities desk very hepful and recommended! We opted for airport transfer service from LM. Also recommended.
