Got a really good deal on bookit.com and the vacation was WONDERFUL! I travelled with my bf (travelled 12/30/2011- 01/08/2012) and we got the all inclusive plan (worth it!), garden view king bed room. Yes the rooms are a bit outdated maybe the quality of a 3 star room, but it wasn't THAT bad at all. Room was spacious, kept clean daily and tips def go a long way. We gave the maid a 20 peso (~$1.60 ish) tip once and she made us a swan out of extra towels and rose pedals scattered everywhere the next day, little things like that, etc. which was a pleasant surprise. :) But of course, there is no pressure or anything to tip every person you encounter. Bed was a bit hard but decent.

Overall vibe of the resort was relaxing and very nice to travel as a couple. Average age group of ppl were around 20-35 yrs old. Sea of Cortez was right there and everyone was so friendly! Food was delish in my opinion. It's authentic Mexican food and not "americanized" so some ppl will like it and some ppl wont, depends on your preference. There really is somehing for everyone tho and most ppl loved the food there. As for drinks, everything was pretty strong.

I would def. go back to Posada Real. Got to meet new people here and there. Very relaxing place and great vacation for a reasonable price. LOVED IT!

ps. There is also a convenient Mega Mart 5 min. walking distance which was convenient. They sell good priced souveniers too including postcards (make sure you know postcard in spanish because no one knew what it was in english, but we eventually found it in a small section.)

My boyfriend and i stayed here jan30-feb6/2012. Very nice, very quiet hotel(no all night partying here). once we checked in Luis took our luggage to our rooms--he is very nice.
rooms are a little dated and need a little bit of fancing up but for the amount of time you spend in your room--its a-o-k with us. beds are very hard--asked 2 times to have an extra mattress pad added and no go. Our guide Juan even askd in Mexican and still nothing--oh well--sore back--i can deal with that too.

Food was good--i found lots of variety and never went hungry.

I have been to 6 other resorts in Mexico and found that this place was not as friendly as other places but we would go back

we took long walks on the beach--beautiful, beautiful is all I can say; was a little sad that we can not swim in the ocean due to the undertows but we loved it anyways

not too many kids were here during our stay--seems like it is a older person resort

all in all a good trip

Although one of the oldest hotels in San Jose, one of the best. Small but intimate. The staff here make you feel like part of the family. From Gabriel and his restauarant staff, to Urbano and his office staff, all of your requests are dealt with promptly. Francisco, Ismael, and of course are favourite waiter Benito made sure are thirsts never lasted long. Unlike large hotels that are impersonible eveyone here knows your name, (kinda like "Cheers"). Breakfast has unlimited options as does lunch. Dinner could use a little more variety. We only stayed one month, but next time it will definitely be longer.

Very friendly, good food and clean rooms. Not fancy.
