My wife and I had never been to Cabo, so we decided to go to an all-inclusive resort for our honeymoon to relax and enjoy ourselves. The Zoetry Casa del Mar was the perfect choice. The grounds are beautiful, and the sound of running water is everywhere. From the moment we arrived, the staff was very friendly and helpful, handing us great margaritas as we sat down for the check-in process.
The room had a jacuzzi tub and a balcony with a view of the ocean (we could hear the waves even when inside). The 24-hour room service was great, particularly the chilaquiles - we had them for breakfast every morning. The bed was very comfortable, we slept extremely well at the Zoetry.
The areas around the three pools were very relaxing and quiet (there weren't very many people at the resort during most of our stay, which was just what we needed). Two of the pools have swim-up bars, but the staff is so attentive that you rarely need to leave your chair. The mai tais and pina coladas were excellent, as was the lunch food - fresh fish tacos and tasty finger food, as well as sandwiches and salads. The ocean in front of the resort is not swimmable, but there is apparently a cove about a 15-minute walk down the beach. We were so relaxed we actually never left the resort, and did not feel like we missed out on anything.
There are two restaurants, one more fine-dining at the hotel and one with tables on the beach. The hotel restaurant was pretty quiet, and seemed more focused on an older crowd. The beach restaurant was more interesting, with tables distributed around a bonfire and a menu of mostly steak. Despite everyone being in the same general vicinity, there was enough space between tables that you couldn't hear more than a murmur and it still felt very romantic. The food was almost all healthy, with caloric info on the menu and good (smaller) portions. We were surprised at how little Mexican food there was on either dinner menu, but we enjoyed almost everything we ordered (particularly a delicious Caesar salad).
The small aspect that surprised us was that the tequila awaiting us in our room (mentioned on the resort's website as a perk) turned out to be Jose Cuervo, which doesn't project the same high-end atmosphere that we saw everywhere else we looked at the resort. However, the selection at the bars was great so we just drank outside of our room.
The Zoetry was exactly what we'd hoped it'd be. We really felt pampered by the staff, the food was good and the tropical drinks were great. Four days of true relaxation made for a perfect honeymoon.
