“In the end -Great!”

We booked their online deal but when we saw the room it was dark, damp and musty. Just a single bed, no patio or view, just a basic cave. I was traveling with a buddy as we left our wives at home- a guy trip. We had just booked the night before so we asked to cancel but were told we would be charged for one night. After a slight standoff we were upgraded to a two bedroom with balcony overlooking the garden stairs. This hotel is very nice and I would recommend it for anyone. The pool and hot tubs are excellent. The tubs overlook the ocean. The hotel is close to town so if you want to stock the full kitchen with food and beverage or if you want to eat the very good restaurant food you have a choice. They also had the best dollar/peso exchange rate!

Room Tip: Very few rooms face the ocean. The others have nice balconies. The hotel has over 100 steps from th...

We chose this hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor!
So felt rather let down as our first impressions were of a tired & shabby property, with an even more tired receptionist! the garden room we were offered on arrival was dark & dank with windows opening on to a footpath around the building. We asked to see an alternative room and were promptly told only one other room was available that would cost us $20 a night extra, it smelt fresher than the first room & was lighter having extra windows to the front with a distant sea view over more immediate roof tops, thus being very weary after our flights we took it.

Having decided to make the most of our few days in Cabo we went off to find something to eat & drink to be pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome at the other end of the hotel by the pool and restaurant staff. Here they were smiling & doing their best to try & make everyone's stay at the hotel a nice one.....difficult for them with a set menu offering the same b'fast, lunch & dinner everyday. Uncomfortable chairs to sit in around the pool whilst having a drink. Old, old sun beds that were too uncomfortable to lie on once the 10 not particularly comfy 'new' ones on the beach had been occupied. It is too beautiful here overlooking the beach & crashing waves to resist, so once again we made the best of things with beach towels on the sand

The only good thing about our room was that it had a clean & comfortable mattress on the bed, the rest left a lot to be desired and it was necessary to keep the bathroom door closed at all times due to the foul smell from the drains.
The only form of air conditioning that worked for us to sleep with was to open the high up windows at the front of our room, only to be woken at 3.00am on our last night at Marbella by the crashing of a falling lamp by the window as a wild fox landed in our room and proceeded to jump on to our bed......fortunately my husband was able to usher it out of the room door, thank goodness it was our last night there as when I told the tired receptionist about it when checking out she said if we had a complaint should e-mail the manager about it!
True this hotel is in a beautiful location on the beach, the restaurant/pool staff are fantastic but the management must be very tired.....like their receptionist not to reinvest in the property and provide decent sun beds, cushions on chairs and generally spruce the place up. Maybe put screens at the windows to prevent vermin entering the rooms, just suppose that fox had come into a room where a child was asleep
No, we would never go back to this hotel or recommend it to any one

“Perfect stay in Cabo if you don't want to be in the overcrowded and Americanized Cabo San Lucas!”

Great hotel and good value for money. On the beach, with swimming pool and hottubs but still very small scale and family-like. The food in the restaurant is great and much less overpriced then what you find in Cabo San Lucas. Don't expect a marble superdeluxe resort, this is the true Mexico and has everything you need!

“we'll be back!”

My family and I stayed at the Marbella suites for four nights, which was not enough for us! The hotel is small, only 40 rooms, which makes it easy for the staff to take care of you at all times. Since the hotel is smaller, the staff really gets to know you and your preferences. There are no televisions in the room which I found to be enjoyable. There wasn't an itch to just go back to the room at night, watch a movie and fall asleep. Instead the bar was open, and not too busy, until about 10:30. We could order drinks, go in the spa, and play pool/ping pong. The beach is small, private, and there are no vendors coming up to you asking if you want to buy things like at some of the bigger beaches. With only 40 rooms it never felt crowded, or too loud for comfort. Overall, service was amazing, the staff was incredibly nice and very open to talk to you about your trip and whatever else, and it was a perfectly peaceful environment. We will be back!

“The ideal honeymoon retreat, 10 out of 10!”

My wife and I traveled to Cabo San Lucas looking for a second chance at a honeymoon; we ended up discovering something even more amazing. After a short trip from the airport, complimentary as part of the time share presentation of course, we arrived at Marbella Suites. Immediately you note how private the hotel appears, it is exactly half way between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo. It is not far enough however that the trip downtown, even by local bus takes more than 10 minutes. Immediately inside the lobby the quality of the fit and finish is immediately obvious. Everything is beautiful, local tile and rod iron. Be prepared to get a workout however, the hotel is built directly into the hillside so you walk up and down these beautiful steps every day. Trust me however, it is worth it. After a quick check in, you are led down to your room. The room includes a common area, eating area, moderately sized kitchen and a separate bedroom area. The rooms even include a large walk in closet. Everything is beautiful and top notch. There were a few quirks here and there but the overwhelming quality of the staff compensates for any minor issues. One of the massive advantages to this hotel is the quality of the food. After checking in, my wife and I went down to the restaurant and met our waiters Pedro, Edgar, Armenio, and Lupe. Very fluent in English, professional, and kind we were never treated with nothing short of stellar service from the entire staff. We even experienced a minor setback after a wedding was scheduled at the hotel during our stay, the pool area and restaurant was closed off on our last night. My wife and I expressed our frustration to the staff and they went out of their way to accommodate us with the most romantic night my wife and I have ever experienced. David, the head chef, is a true artisan. Even the maintenance staff is very kind and understanding, Victor took very good care of us. Let this sink in, my wife and remembered the names of all of the staff at this hotel. When was the last time you were at a hotel that made that kind of impact on you? This hotel is incredible.

Room Tip: You really cannot get a bad room.
