For those who would like to choose this destination hotel for your vacation or celebrating wedding i would definetly reccomend it, but there a thing that had happened to me- so i advise people take extra care of all their belongings and don't leave things in the room. Don't forget that you are travelling to Mexico, eventhough its an international brand Sheraton. Bad people can work everywhere. I just wanted to tell that one of our cellphones (iphone4) was exactly stollen from our room, because we didn't think that it is obligatory to put all your brlongings including cell phone into safe. Noone from the staff of the hotel did mention that it is necessary. So, after a week of our stay and hosekeeping visits twice a day, i found that our cell phone is not in the room( just after the morning cleaning) and i did exactly knew, that before housekeeper came it was in the room, because it was ringing. Finally i called people from staff, guest relations and security, they made up some investigation and the results were nothing. They just appologized that it was happened to me and that was all.

What a wonderful week in Cabo! The Hacienda del Mar was luxurious and immaculate. The room we were in was quite spacious and provided magnificent views of the ocean. I would recommend it for adults; not too much to do for young children.

The Sheraton is a beautiful property.  The grounds were well groomed and staff very friendly and attentive.  The rooms were spotless and nicely furnished.  Clientele seemed to be mostly retirees and middle aged couples during my stay.

We went to the vacation club presentation for the free breakfast and tour discounts.  The promised 75 min tour took 3hrs, but we got some decent discounts out of it.   

The beach is not really swimmable.  The water was dark and cold with very rough waves so I stayed mostly by the pool and jacuzzi. I'm a beach person and I normally prefer the beautiful clear calm turquoise waters and fine powdery white sand found in the Caribbean and eastern coast of Mexico like Cancun, Riviera maya, Playa del Carmen etc.   The Mexican pacific coast beaches in cities like Cabo and Puerto Vallarta don't have the same picturesque beauty which can be disappointing to the picky beach lover like me.  Of course I knew to what to expect from my research but I went anyway with an open mind as I always love to try new destinations.

We ate at most of the restaurants on site.  All meals and wait staff were excellent. Due to the secluded nature of the property there aren't other places in walking distance to eat unless you cab or shuttle it downtown for meals.  Either way you'll spend all your money at restaurants on site or on the cabs, shuttles or rental cars/gas going downtown for the cheaper food.  Shuttle is $10 round trip and a cab will run about $200 pesos each way to the marina.

Overall impression?   I most likely wont return to Cabo but I recommend the Sheraton if rates are fair and you do not necessarily care about location or beach quality.  Perfect for a lazy vacation as the resort has everything you need and you don't have to leave the property if you don't want to.  If you are young and like a more lively fun party atmosphere book elsewhere. 

My husband and our friends just returned from a wonderful trip to Cabo San Lucas. Our stay at the Hacienda del Mar Resort & Spa was so great that it cannot really be expressed in words. We exchanged our Marriott timeshare in South Carolina for a three bedroom villa at the Hacienda del Mar. Rolando Pech, the Front Desk Manager placed us in a wonderful villa with beach and ocean views. We were so impressed from the moment we arrived until the sad time that we had to depart. We ate at Tomatos and Girasoles and we had great food at each. We also had lunch while enjoying the pool and beach and the food there was fine as well. The maids left our room so nice every day and all of the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. I would certainly return again.
