My husband and I had the most amazing time at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica. We stayed from September 25-October 1 in a beach front room. The beach front room was GREAT being so close to the pool and restaurant.
Some of the complaints I read prior to our trip of this place were the lack of activities or nightlife. I agree that it doesn't have a TON of entertainment options but that is not why we came here. We wanted to relax, drink, eat, and go into town. The food at Pacifica is TOP NOTCH. The sushi was amazing, the chocolate fettuccine with lobster OMG, the tuna steak, etc etc. Best food by far at an all inclusive resort. The food by the pool was great too- steak and chicken nachos were a daily occurrence, as were fish tacos and mango margaritas. The staff was friendly and there to make us happy. We tipped often, and that definitely didn't hurt our quality of service. The staff worked hard to make us happy and we felt they deserved a tip for it! The activities staff was great - we enjoyed several rounds of bocce ball.
Another thing i read about beforehand were complaints of being hassled by the time share people. Here's a secret - we were both 24 years old at the time of our trip, thus too young to purchase a timeshare. So we were never hassled once.
The spa was wonderful - we got a couple massage. While it was definitely pricey, it was 100% worth it. True relaxation at the hands of very talented masseuses.
We made reservations for each night of dinner that we were at the resort. The staff was very helpful in booking us reservations in town too. Since we went during the end of the off season, a lot of the popular restaurants in town were closed. The hotel manager recommended us to Las Golandrinas where we had some AMAZING lobster and steak and enough food to feed a village. Highly recommend it.
This place was extremely affordable considering the quality. That is why we didn't feel bad leaving the resort to go explore town. (Though we talked to many other couples who hadn't left the place once! I'm sure we would've been happy with that too :) ) We took a snorkeling excursion on a catamaran that was a great time, and we were happy to explore Cabo - a city we hadn't been to prior.
Our room was always kept clean, with a turn down service every night. They even give you a pillow menu!
Once thing I recommend would be renting a beach bed for the day. It was pure relaxation. A staff member would come and bring us drinks and food all day. It was absolutely worth the extra $20. We would sneak down to the water and dip our toes in. The waves were beautiful and we had no problem not to be able to swim in the Pacific - the pools were fantastic and more than made up for this!
Overall, I have no complaints. As a young couple on our honeymoon, we didn't want to be around all the drunk partiers found at other resorts, or the families with a bunch of children running and screaming around the pool. If that's what you want, then Pacifica is not for you. For a relaxing, romantic, fine-dining, beautiful getaway, GO TO PACIFICA. It is definitely remote being the last resort on the drive away from the airport. But we couldn't have been happier for this. Just a short ride into town using the free shuttle or a $10 cab ride was all that kept you from the fun of the city. We cannot wait to go back one day.
Room Tip: We spent a little extra for the beach front room (not suite). it was worth it. I would much rather b...
