“LOVED IT!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2010

We loved staying at the Mexican Inn..it was so quaint, warm and romantic. Julia was fantastic..she was so helpful in recommendations and a super hostess. She would have our table set for breakfast..delicious pastries/breads with jam, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. It is served outside in the courtyard with views of the fountain..you can watch little birds bathing in the water and the sun rays that come gleeming in from the open roof above. The courtyard is very tropical with lots of different plants and pottery and gorgeous mexican tile. The rooms are cosy..and having a priivate bath was great. The marina and the shops and restaurants of downtown cabo were just a few blocks and minutes away..we walked everywhere.. I would definitely stay there again..hospitality and price were unmatched. it is true about the barking dog across the street but someone it didnt seem to bother me that much.. the internet was very slow in the room but a block away is an internet store where you can use a computer for one dollar and hour..and it was fast!

“Close to perfect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

After having a good experience with a small boutique hotel like this in Oaxaca, we recently stayed at The Mexican Inn for a whole week. The hotel is really nice and normally quiet, except for the dogs across the street barking sometimes. The rooms are nicely decorated and equiped with a TV/DVD combo which doesn't have a cable connection but only allows you to watch the DVDs you can get for free from the staff. The hotel is a perfect base to discover Cabo and its surroundings and the staff is good too. Twice we requested breakfast earlier as normally possible and we got it, the dining tips are good and they also help when booking a tour or rental car by calling them for quotes. The included breakfast consists of pastries, cereal, marmelade, toast and fresh fruits with joghurt, though it is strange that they don't have milk for the cereal. That's why we ordered extra joghurt to go with it. Because only two rooms were occupied at the time, we were also allowed/able to use the fridge in the kitchen to store some of our own stuff, especially drinks. I can recommend staying there.

“Hidden gem in the heart of CSL”

Just came back from 6 days at The Mexican Inn. I liked this little B&B a lot - excellent location on the safe and quiet residential street a couple of blocks from the marina. There are only a handful of rooms in this hotel, and instead of numbers they have female names assigned to each of the rooms. The rooms are very nice, small but very clean and comfortable with tiled floors, antique-looking furniture, and even a nice canopy above the bed. There is AC with remote, TV/DVD sans cable service, but office is stocked with good selection of DVDs - not that you would go to Cabo to watch movies...The Marina and the clubs are only 2 blocks away, and it is equidistant to El Squid Roe and Cabo Wabo - about 3 min walk. There is a courtyard with lush tropical plants, a fountain, and a palapa with a few tables for morning breakfast. The courtyard has a metal gate which gets locked at 10PM, but they give you a key, so you can come and go as you please. There is no night guard - none are needed. The breakfast is excellent - fruit salad with fresh juices, coffee, pastries, toast, and homemade jam to start your day right. Staff consisted of one young lady - Julia, who was very helpful and friendly. I only saw 3 other guests during my stay, and sometimes even locals had no idea where this hotel was. The ones that did know the hotel or its predecessor, Chili Pepper Inn, gave me big smiles.
There is one thing I should mention: I was signed up for a timeshare presentation as soon as I arrived at the airport. Even though it's a waste of time to most people, and an annoyance to some who cannot stand strong sales pressure, in my case it was worth it. I was planning to do 2 days of local scuba diving, Cabo Pulmo trip w/ 2 tank dives, and a long ATV tour to Candelaria/Migrino, and time share place gave me HUGE discounts on all these activities. As it turns out, the guy that signed me up at the airport was new and did not know that The Mexican Inn was NOT one of the hotels whose guests qualify for time share pitch. Timeshare people did hold their end of the bargain, but they had to switch me to a VIP program and I even got 1 week of use of all of their amenities w/o buying a thing.

“Cabos Best Kept Secret in Relaxation & Hostpitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2010

When my boyfriend & I planned our trip to Cabo this year, we decided to veer away from the resort scene. We wanted to feel the local beat, & experience some real mexican hospitality. We reserved a room for a week at Norman Diego's at an unbelievably low rate. I was a bit skeptical about the hotel because the rate was so cheap & honestly I did not expect such a positive experience. However, we were pleasantly surprised upon arrival at Norman Diego's! From the moment we arrived Emilio, the inn keeper made us right at home. As soon as we walked thru the gate, we were surrounded by a beautiful lush garden, tranquil sounds trickling from the fountain, artistic murals, and a feeling of being whisked away to a personal sanctuary. The accommodations are immaculate & romantic with spanish style paintings, terra cotta tiled floors, lovely carved furniture & a comfy bed. Breakfast under the palapa is so refreshing, with fresh fruits, juices & sweet breads; there is a full menu, but once you've finished all the fruit and bread, there is no need for more! We planned to enjoy the local beaches & water activities during our stay; Emilio was eager to assist us & provided us more information about the local activities than we could ever ask for! He set up our snorkeling trip to Pelicanos & Lovers Beach; a guided tour of The Arch, as well as information about Chilleno Bay. He offered so much info concerning water sports & local activities that we had no need to deal with the peddlers around the marina & beach areas. The hotel itself is off the beaten track in a quiet residential area. It takes about 7 minutes to walk into the heart of town & the marina. Several great restaurants & taco stands are in the immediate area; a great tortilleria is across the street with fresh warm tortillas every day! There is a grocery store within a 3 minute walk & a bus station if needed about 5 minutes away. Everything we could possible want to do while in Cabo was within walking distance, or a quick bus ride away. Norman Diego's turned out to be a personal heaven for us & after we had been at the hotel for a few days, we decided to book 4 additional nights. Emilio was more than happy to accommodate us for the extra nights, and gave us yet another great rate. Both of us work in the airline industry & we have had the opportunity to travel and stay in many hotels & resorts. Norman Diego's is by far a leading example in hospitality, location & accommodations. We have we recommended the hotel to family, friends & co-workers; & we plan to stay at Norman Diego's on each visit to Cabo. If you are looking for a little piece of heaven in Cabo, Norman Diego's is the place to be!

“This place was a find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 March 2010

What Cabo used to be. No glitz and clamor. Very clean, pleasant and peaceful. NIce palapa and courtyard for breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly without being obtrusive. I had a medical emergency while I was there and the manager and one of the staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help. I would return there in an instant.
