“Dreams of CABO - most relaxing vacation ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We've gone to Los Cabos for almost ten years now, and this was our most relaxing vacation ever. We tried, but could not find a single thing wrong with our stay. We tried to figure out why, and we think it was largely because of the staff. From the time we checked in, to laying around the pool, to dinner and evening entertainment, the staff at Dreams couldn't have been nicer nor more helpful. We never were in need of anything.

Dreams is not a large piece of property, but very efficiently laid out and everything you'd expect in a top resort. We preferred the quiet and peacefulness of the Tranquility (adults only) pool, but most people enjoyed the main (infinity) pool with the hot tub, waterslide and other activities (especially those with children). The service at the pools was as good as everywhere else. I saw some not so favorable reviews about the food and drink, but I was not disappointed at all.

The food? We ate at all five restaurants and were not disappointed once. The service was great. I really enjoyed the surf & turf (scallops & filet) at the Oceana, a great meal at the Asian restaurant, and a great shrimp fettucini at Portofino. But I really enjoyed breakfast every morning - omelets to order, and a great selection of fresh fruit at the buffet. What I really liked was the moderate sized portions - not small, but never felt stuffed after a meal. Well prepared, always served hot, and great presentation. And the wait staff couldn't have been nicer.

We went to the fitness center every morning, then had a nice leisurely breakfast, Did yoga on the beach and took a couple nice long beach walks where we often saw whales, sometimes no more than 100 yards offshore and watched the pelicans dive for their fish.

There is some sort of entertainment every night. We enjoyed karaoke night, the beach party, the Mexican show on the beach, and saw the Michael Jackson show on Wednesday night (which was better than I expected). There is a movie outside every night for entertaining the kids. And we really enjoyed meeting other people around the fire pit each evening.

Some reviewers cite that Dreams is too far out of town (about a 20 minute drive). Yes, Cabo San Lucas is the heart of Cabo with Medano Beach, the spectacular views of Los Archos, all the water activities and hot spots like the Mango Deck and El Squid Roe, but there is a complimentary shuttle that runs four times a day to the marina. We went into town two different days and did some shopping, had dinner at the Office and stopped by the Happy Ending cantina (as we always do in Cabo).

The only thing we found lacking was we didn't have a coffee pot in our room (I believe it was an oversight), but I brought packets of Via from Starbucks, and the little Coco coffee shop was better than anything we could have made in the room. One of the highlights of my morning was stopping there for a latte.

There are higher end resorts in Cabo, but you won't find a better one than Dreams. Away from the buzz and excitement of Medano Beach and Cabo San Lucas, but we actually preferred the quiet, peaceful, relaxing vacation up the copast. Highly recommended, and we WILL be back again.

Room Tip: The view from the upper floors (4-6) is better.

The views of the Sea of Cortez are breathtaking. The property is stunning and well maintained. The amenities are diverse and terrific. The staff is so friendly, helpful and professional. Mario Cortes is the BEST CONCIERGE I have ever dealt with---no wonder we go back every year.

“Great Experience at Dreams Los Cabos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We had a fantastic time at Dreams Los Cabos. We stayed in the Preferred Club which I would highly recommend. The Club Concierge, Griselle, did a fantastic job meeting us on arrival, looking after every detail for 7 days and organizing our departure. As well, the restaurants were excellent as was the service throughout the hotel. The staff everywhere were friendly and made you feel welcome. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.

“Wonderful Trip, Great Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This is a wonderful property, great staff, good food and all amenities are great and well maintained.

The staff are all well trained and those dealing with the public speak very good English.

It is worth the little bit extra to use their Preferred accommodation. You go straight to the 6th floor where you are greeted by Griselle, the preferred concierge. She is a really nice young lady who will cheerfully check you in and introduce you to the floor. She will introduce you to the staff at the Preferred lounge who are most pleasant and will cater to your every need. You will meet Enieda or Azucena, both lovely young ladies who look after the lounge.

Griselle will also clearly explain all of the workings of the resort and is a great person to rely on if you need anything during your stay. She seems to be able to make things happen and is always cheerful and obliging. She is your right hand person form check in to check out.

The restaurants are all exceptional. The no reservation system really works, the staff are very good and the food is excellent.

All the facilities are good. They are clean, well maintained and readily accessible.

We would certainly recommend this resort and will probably return soon.

Room Tip: Go for the Preferred Floor. All rooms have great view and are quiet.

“Just Above Average”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

My husband and I have set our "all-inclusive" standards against those of Sandals/Beaches, so I'll start there. It was our 10yr anniversary and we wanted to go back to Beaches Negril where we got married, but we just couldn't afford it. A customer of my husbands recommended we look into Dreams. My husband wanted to go dirt bike riding so San Jose Del Cabo seemed to be the best area and it was conveniently located. Being our first time vacationing in Mexico we decided to stick with an all-inclusive. I found a great deal for this trip.

PROS: The resort was beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are big and comfortable all with great views. The food was average, as with any all-inclusive I've ever been to. They were very nice with some of the little anniversary extras we received. The Super Bowl viewing on the beach was really nice. Pretty decent location if you want to visit both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo. Sit through the "vacation club" tour and get some freebies. The pools are heated...great touch!

CONS: Wi-Fi was an additional charge and was not good service. Transportation they provided to either area was $20/pp and only ran at certain times (rent a car for $38/day). If you wanted to have a whole bottle of wine you had to pay extra. (stick with the house wine and drink all you want). If you're looking to relax this place is perfect, if you want things to do, there's not much going on. Nights are cool during the winter and 2 of the 5 restaurants are outdoors, and not always open. They will accept tips, but it is not required. There was only one jacuzzi and it was in the main pool and all the kids were in it all the time. They offer a nice romantic dinner for two on the beach...for an additional charge...if you wanted Lobster that too was an additional charge. Remember...this is an all-inclusive.

All and all, a very nice place and not a bad experience, just not up to our usual standards for an all-inclusive.

Room Tip: If you're looking for quiet, request a room on the 5th floor on the Tranquility pool side.
