“Just fine - charming even, and no service issues”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2010

We spent a night here before our resort week began, and it was perfect for that purpose. We found the pool area and restaurant charming and attractive, nicer than expected, and the room was fine, with even a little patio that we enjoy in the morning before leaving. We even had a nice continental breakfast of fruit w/ yogurt, bread/rolls/butter, juice and coffee. The restaurant was open late so enjoyed a nice light supper and a margarita after a long flight. Neither of us understood the negative reviews, though apparently people had service issues. We had no problems. They had our reservation, checked in promptly, check out in the AM was fine, the location was wonderfully convenient just off the main road into Cabo, and maybe a mile and a half from town. Free, ample parking, which you wouldnt get in town, and even a nice water view during breakfast. And for $65? Have to wonder what people expect from a budget priced place -- this exceeded our expectations. I'd give it 5 stars, because we thought it was great, but it's not a 5-star hotel by any means, so I'm going with 4. But really we couldnt have done any better with this choice.

“Adequate for short Term”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2009

Los Patios is nothing fancy, but adequate. Request a second floor room if you want to overlook the pool. There is no elevator and only two floors. It is inexpensive based on Cabo. We booked this hotel through our travel agent and got a very good rate with AAA card. It is very far from everything except Costco. Costco is within walking distance although you have to walk along Hwy1. The check-in process was easy and the hotel staff were cordial. We stayed here one night and moved on to our ultimate destination the next day. I thought the restaurant was ok. I had the fish tacos and they were good. The wait staff was very courteous. If this hotel was closer to town or if you had a car, it would be great. This hotel seemed popular with the locals. I didn't notice any traffic noise. I felt Los Patios was quiet and peaceful. If you wanted to just chill out for a few days, this hotel would be fine.

“Good, but inconsistent service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2009

I initially had trouble booking the stay because the manager of reservations didn't know how the deal I wanted worked, and initially tried to charge me twice as much. The second person I dealt with on the telephone was very difficult to understand because he didn't speak clearly, and seemed to have no telephone communication skills, like using simple manners when asking questions. My entire interchange was in Spanish, so it can't be blamed on low level English skills.

This seemed to be a problem across the whole stay. With the exception of two reception staff, no-one seemed to know how to do their jobs properly. Any other receptionist needed to ask other staff to get information, or they would just give details that were outright wrong.

One night I ordered room service, and when I greeted the server with "Buenas noches" all I got was a "Si" in response. Not very polite at all!

In the mornings, the cleaners would knock on my door telling me I should be out of the room in 10 minutes so that they could get in to clean!

The complimentary breakfast was most ungenerous, with very few healthy options, and terrible service. No coffee refills, and one slice of cold rubbery toast (I had to find my own butter and jam) and some sugary cereal is not really what I expected for the price of this hotel.

My room was nice, and the whole hotel had a nice atmosphere. I didn't find the distance from town a problem, and just used the regular buses up and down the Corridor. I think they just need to work on their customer service, as its obviously lacking in most areas.

  • Liked — The rooms were modern and the beds were very comfortable.
  • Disliked — Only a few cable channels to choose from, not enough for the price.

“Better than I was expecting...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2008

I went to Cabo San Lucas with 10 other people in March 2008. I was not the person who selected or booked the hotel, someone else took take of that. Once i got the information I had come on here to check the reviews about this hotel. After reading what was posted I was pretty nervous to say the least. I was expecting the worst. There were people complaining about the food, service, pool, beds and pretty much everything about the hotel. I tried to keep an open mind though as not to ruin my vacation before it even started. This was my first time to Cabo San Lucas. Upon arrival to the hotel I must say that I was very surprised at how everything looked. It's a small scale hotel but is very cute. It's got an open-air feel to it becuz of how the rooms are set up. All 5 of our rooms had balconies which was nice-- that overlook the pool. The people who commented about the beds being hard, i definitely agree with that, but I don't think that made them 'uncomfortable' at all actually. There's no head board, its just concrete, so its not what most people are used to it. The food offered at the hotel is a bit pricy-- but that's too be expected, you are in Cabo, nothing is going to be "cheap". Although the food was a bit expensive, everything was very good that we ate. We were there right before spring break had started so the hotel was pretty quiet, which was also very relaxing! The hotel is not on the beach, you would have to either drive or get a taxi if you want to go to the beach, but that really didnt bother us. Town isn't too far away-- you could walk there if you wanted to but for some, it might be just a little too far, but there are buses that run pretty often which are inexpensive that can drop you off right in town. The first day that we were there we did have an issue with the hot water in our shower, but i called the front desk and they sent someone in about 5 mins to take care of it. Besides that we didnt have any issues with the hotel at all. I had a great vacation and all in all I would definitely stay there again. Cabo San Lucas was amazing--- i loved everything about it!!! =)
