“Nice Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

We stayed here 2 years ago on a short notice get away that we found on hotels.com, wasnt sure what to expect when we arrrived. If you don't mind a 10 minutes walk to down town then this is that place to be. This was our second time staying at this hotel and we ended up in the same room on our last trip as of our frist trip. It is quiet and clean, you have to play with the hot water a little to get it to work. The over all place is nice and clean and they are very very friendly..

“when you fly in late...”

Great stay. Check in was easy, efficient, quick! Rooms fine- powerful stream of scorching hot water for shower- better than Riu Sante Fe we stayed in later. Pool was cold. They have a basic little breakfast restaurant on site which is nice. The best part is it's cheap, it's in town, and the Mexican restaurants are not far away. We got in late and just wanted a day in the marina area before the all inclusive, and this was perfect. The marina is like 4 blocks away and just past that access to the beach. If you want a couple of days to crash while you check out the fishing, beach, marina, Cabo Wabo etc. before your all inclusive stay, this is it. If you like hotel amenities, go somewhere else.

“This place was perfect for us.”

When I booked this hotel, I couldn't find any current reviews. So I wanted others to know how we liked it. It is a budget hotel, clean, wonderful staff, simple pleasures. We have an efficiency with a kitchenette. All rooms open up to the center where there are chairs, a clean pool and free internet. We cooked a few nights and had coffee and breakfast in our room most mornings. If you want a resort style hotel this isn't for you. It is located in the downtown area so you have to walk to the marina. It's about 5 blocks. We liked it because it was great exercise. Medano Beach is a little farther. There are a couple of shortcuts over there. (Make a left at the Crazy Lobster and walk up behind the high rise hotels. We liked the beach near the Naval station. IF you look to the right of the rock formations from Medano Beach you can see the grass umbrellas. Mostly locals and no venders. Our hotel windows opened to the street where you will have city sounds. We slept fine, but we can sleep anywhere. We liked it mostly because it felt more like being in Mexico than in a Large Resort Hotel.

“good place for a tour of baja california”

good hotel, maybe not to have a long holiday, but we travel all around baja california, so this is a perfect hotel for us: clean (enough!), comfortable, not fantastic breakfast, wireless (very important for me, for my work). good solutions!

“Won't honor Reservations”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2007
1
person found this review helpful

We made reservations for two rooms three months in advance, and called about 20 times to confirm. When we showed up in Cabo, they wouldn't honor the reservations. We ended up getting a two bedroom condo at Marina Sol, much better place, $100 more for the week than two rooms at Hotel Santa Fe.
