We've stayed at this resort before and thought this would be nice to return knowing of the good experience we have had in the past. The moment we arrived, the front reception girl, "Betsy", informed us that there would be an extra $500.00 charge because our 13 and 16 year old sons were considered adults. We had copies of the Expedia confirmations that showed I had indicated the ages of the kids and the drop down screens indicated they were children. She was rude and unaccomodating and said she would not allow us to stay unless we paid the extra money. We argued with her and asked for her manager. She first stated she was the manager, but we saw that "Javier" on the wall as the manager for the day. Just then "Arturo" walked up who is the PR person for the hotel. I told him what she was asking for. He finally dropped the extra charge to $178.00. Our trip was nice until my husband and son got food poisoning on the 2nd night. We were up all night that night along with the DJ from Squid Row. It was horribly loud until 4:30 AM. At 8AM, after being up all night, the maid upstairs decided to move furniture above us. It took 3 calls for the front desk to make her stop. THEN, the construction started! We were in room 407/408. Do not stay in that wing as there is construction at the end of that wing. Why would they place anyone there on vacation? We went to the front desk to ask to either get us comped for the night or at least a voucher for dinner and the front desk offered us nothing but to move rooms. We declined as we were already unpacked (5 of us) for two days. This hotel's service has really changed and it started with the front desk. We asked every day for the manager and no one went out of their way to leave him a message. We never saw or heard from him. We've stayed at many resorts on a yearly basis and I have never had a bad experience as what we went through.

Don’t stay at this hotel. They do not care about there guests. All there care about is hitting you with every extra fee they can and selling you a time share. The staff is very rude and they don’t seem to care about there guests.

Here’s a brief summary of the problems we had on our recent stay at the Marina Fiesta.

We thought we had received a good deal on Expedia for a 4 night 5 day stay here for $697 for our family of four. We didn’t do the all inclusive, just the hotel stay. When we arrived and tried to check in the front desk girl asked how old our two boys were. As we put on the Expedia web site, I told them 13 and 16. She said they are not children and they need to pay the full rate. She asked for over $500 more for us to check in. We didn’t understand because we only paid $697 for all four of us and we didn’t get the all inclusive. She told us we had to call Expedia to work this out but she wouldn’t let us use the phone. Her other option was for us to book another room for $850 a NIGHT. Again, I was confused because our room held up to six people. Not a good start.

We didn’t have much of a choice so we ended up checking in. They put us in a two bedroom suite but forgot to tell us they were doing construction to the wing next to us and that there would be a lot of noise starting at 8am each morning. When I tried to change rooms the front desk told me I can get you two rooms but they had no more suites and they couldn’t stop the construction. There was nothing she could do. I soon found out this was a common response from them.

If the construction noise didn’t keep us awake then the timeshare group calling every morning at the crack of dawn asking if they could meet with us today to discuss purchasing a unit did.

The final straw was that my son and I both got food poisoning (to be fair not from the hotel) but the next day we were sitting by the pool trying to recover by sleeping and drinking a Gatorade. The waiter came by and said they do not allow any outside drinks around the pool. I said fine can you bring us both a Gatorade. He told me they don’t sell them. It wasn't like we had a cooler full of beer just two small Gatorade's. To make him leave us alone I had to order two $4 waters.

All this hotel cared about was getting as much from you as they can while you are here. If you don’t buy a time share you will most likely never come back so they need to take what they can get.

We did not have a good experience at this hotel and we would never stay there again. My family and I have traveled and fished in Cabo for over 20 years and have never had an experience like this. Save yourself a lot of headache's and stay somewhere that appreciates there guests.

As other travellers have said, the location is tops. Right on the Marina, a block from the beach, minutes from the entertainment areas. Perfect location for all Cabo has to offer.
The hotel itself is OK, but pretty average standard. Pools are nice, although next time we'll avoid spring break!! No room safe, but lobbysafe was offered at no cost. No problems with staff or anything, apart from our gate card kept needing resetting, which got a little old. Overall an OK hotel, but a really good location.

Honestly, you can't beat the location! Walking distance to Playa el Medano, the marina and the nightlife! The rooms were clean and adequate, the food just okay (only ate there for breakfast) and the pool was fun. During the 4 nights I spent at this hotel, I probably spent more time lounging by the pool than venturing off to the beach. Dinner options were plentiful as the hotel was just steps away from the marina restaurants. I would stay here again.
