This was my husband and I first time in Cabo. It is a very beautiful place. We stayed at the Villa Del Pelmar. There was a few problems. When we checked in they did not have the room that we requested they had already booked it. Then tolds us that if we wanted a room just like it but a couple floors down it would be a $700 more for the week. Which I thought was nuts. The room that we did get was nice. It had a nice view of the sea. We got to see several ocean liners come in to port. It was very interesting watching them move the huge things around in such a small area. Then the timeshare thing, well let me tell you that was something in itself. Downstairs they did everything that you could possible image to get us to go to one. When we told them what happen with our room the conciege said let me see what I can do. But to no preveil she did nothing either. We decided not to do a timeshare doing to all the problems with the room booking. The food is good at the beach the waiters are very nice. I did read a review before I left on the smell of possible sewer. Well there is a smell but, by 10am it was gone nothing you could not deal with. They have beautiful pool well taken care of, the only problem I could see was that the adult pool at the top did not have enough tables, umbrellas or chairs. But all it all it was a nice place.

First off, the bus to get to the hotel was just time for the guide to sell you on timeshares. After a long flight, all I really wanted was a cold beer and quiet.

When we got to the hotel, the entrance was just beautiful with flowers, waterfalls, marble, etc. The grounds are kept up very well, and there seemed to always be people out picking up trash, fallen branches, etc. The beach is very nice with chairs & some huts, but the sellers constantly yelling at us really put us off. We ended up near the pool most of the time.

The staff is quite friendly, but extremely pushy on the timeshares. And if you decide to sign up for one, get what they promised you IN WRITING. A number of folks mentioned that one gal promised something and when they went to collect, the other gal would say she didn't promise it, so she wouldn't do it.

The room was nice - the beds were pretty comfortable. The little balcony & chairs is really nice at night or in the morning - very relaxing. The kitchenette is really a nice touch, as lots of people go to the grocery store or Costco and bring food back, so they don't have to eat out the entire time. The kitchens were well-stocked with pots & dishes.

The pools are nice, but not too warm. It would be nice if the hotel would have had more activities around the pool or a separate pool for adults. Sometimes the pool seemed crowded and people would put their bags in chairs in the morning to "save" them for later. You'd think the staff would have been pushing drinks or food to people around the pool, but it was nearly impossible to get a menu.

We didn't partake in any of the shows and didn't do the all-inclusive package. The food on site was fairly good, but one night the dinners were very bland. For that much money, the food should be outstanding!

The bartenders were friendly & made good drinks - always a plus!

The little store on site is great and not as expensive as I'd expected. It was nice to be able to run over and buy chips or anything for munching on.

Careful on the check-out that they don't try to charge you for anything extra. They tried to charge us for not returning beach towels and for eating a candy bar from the mini-bar. In fact, we had returned the towels and the candy bar wrapper the maid saw was from one that we'd purchased in the store.

I would have rated this hotel higher, but the whole pressure from the staff about Timeshares really turned me off. It's too bad, because without that, the trip was great.

For the price this resort was wonderful. I must admit the water was a little rough. But the resort is right in the middle of everything and in the middle of two of the other Villa hotels. You are allowed to visit and use the others resorts amenities also. The desert spa is a MUST! The best massage/spa ever! The hotels food was pretty decent too.. and downtown is only a 5 minute cab ride. Would definetly go back again. But maybe upgrade and stay at the Villa del Arco.

This was our first (not cerainly the last) visit to Cabo. The resort staff and facilities at Villa Del Palmar were absolutely astounding! Our room was spacious and overlooked the Sea of Cortez. The nightly special activities available to guests were great. The food was also fantastic. Cabo itself is a fun place to visit and walk around in. We never had a moment where we felt nervous or concerned for our safety. In fact, all the locals were as friendly as they could be and we were treated like royalty. If you are planning a trip to Cabo, you can not go wrong at this facility.

I just returned from a 10 day stay at the Villa del Palmar in Cabo, it was my second time there. I traveled with my husband and six year old daughter and we had a blast. This is one of the few resorts in Cabo that offers cleanliness and a safe, family oriented environment within the price range of an average family. It may not be the place to go if you are looking for 5 star cuisine, luxury, and serenity but it is absolutely the place to go in Cabo if you have children and want a hotel right on the beach. Your kids will make a ton of friends to swim and play with which makes it easier for you. We had a one bedroom jr suite which I rented from a timeshare vacation rental website for only $695 per week. There was a huge bedroom with it's own tv and bathroom as well as a fold out couch in the living area with another tv and bathroom. The kitchenette was awesome and had a microwave, toaster, range top, and fridge. Cabo has a Costco and Sam's Club so we went at the beginning of our stay and stocked up on food and beer for the rest of the week. Our room was very clean and cool. Some of the rooms are getting a bit dated but they are still kept very clean. We felt safe in leaving our belongings in the room and housekeeping did an outstanding job of cleaning each day. For this price, you will not be disappointed. I would recommend however, avoiding college spring break time because a resort in this price range also attracts that crowd.
