Very friendly, good real ale beers and local lagers. Food was excellent and the rooms clean and comfortable. Great nights stay. Thank you.

Beautiful building. Ultra comfy pub with log fire. Friendly and knowledgeable hosts, Simon and Sally. (He is a wine buff and SO enthusiastic. You can trust his recommendations and many wines available by the glass.) The real ale is excellent too. The food is brilliant: I had an oustanding duck confit with walnut jus. This place manages to have the feeling and atmosphere of a local pub coupled with top class cooking. we go for a couple of meals every year during the Cheltenham Festival and I would say they pull off the impossible by getting better every year. I wish this was my local.

After a very long day on our bikes, (we had got lost a number of times) we arrived at the Horse and Groom Village Inn. Simon Jackson met us and immediately put away all our bikes and showed us to our very cozy rooms. After a little liquid refreshment, served by Simon we all met downstairs in the charming dining room for dinner. The fire place was lit and soon we were looked after by Sally. We all had different meals and each was excellent. Very good service, very good food. The next morning Simon arranged for our breakfast to be served earlier than usual so we could get an early start on our next days adventure. We had an excellent breakfast. Simon then had all our bikes ready and waiting for us. We bid him a fond farewell after many thanks. Six women, on a six day tour and we all agreed this was our favourite stay. A must place to stay

Inattentive serviceand badly written menu should have alerted us to the fact that we were in the wrong Horse and Groom so do be careful when booking. The food was of poor quality with no care as to presentation and the service was just awful. What can one say if asked " Is everything alright?" when it isn't and subsequently be accused of lying about the food and being told to pay the bill and get out. These people are living on their reputation or perhaps on the reputation of a nearby pub of the same name and should be avoided unless you are on the brink of death from starvation.
