Stayed for four nights whilst working locally along with a couple of colleagues. On the plus side the food in the restaurant was pretty good and, if you got the right staff, the service was freindly and prompt too. However, this was outweighed by poor service on other nights and also at breakfast - had to laugh when both my porridge and poached haddock came out of the kitchen at the same time!

On the final morning I was almost berated for sitting at the wrong table - it hadn't been set for breakast apparently, and the porridge was salty too!

Family wedding. Stayed for 1 night. For where the hotel is situated (villages), expensive for what they offered. Could have stayed in Edinburgh for the same price of a room. Bar drinks very expensive.

This hotel is not for the locals to have their wedding at. Pricey, and over-rated.

i had my wedding reception here in aug it was fantastic, it was one of the biggest weddings they have held no complants staff were amazing especialy margret and scott, rooms were great food was great as was breakfast could not say a bad word .

Positives - the room has a comforatble king size bed, and the hotel is very clean

Negatives - toiletries are basic, the room was a bit cold, the price is a bit high for the location (but then they have no competition). After the wedding, we returned to the hotel and wanted a drink in the bar. They served us one drink, then asked us to move into a side room. This room was really cold. The waiter served us, then disappeared. We had to wait ages for anyone to come back - and then it was pricey! They made it pretty obvious that we were a total inconvenience - there was a comment about someone having to stay up to serve us.

The worst however, was the breakfast. Breakfast was 8 till 10. We went down about 9.40 - and got our breakfast just before 10.30!!! I have never waited so long for breakfast anywhere I have ever stayed. When it came, I asked for a fresh pot of tea as ours had gone cold, but it never came.
We waited so long, we were late checking out (checkout is 11) but at least they didn't complain.

To be fair, I had messed up on the booking. I booked for 1 person instead of 2 (Best Western website is not the best.) They added £20 onto the bill, which was reasonable I suppose, but no way was that breakfast worth it!

I wouldn't recommend it, nor would I stay there again.
