“Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We had an overnight stay at the Creggans Inn and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The property dates back a long way but the current owners have done a lot of refurbishment and it is now warm, welcoming and immaculate. Most of the rooms, and the residents' lounge have stunning views over Loch Fyne. The fine dining restaurant was not open the night we were there but we ate very well in the bar area. The owners and staff were helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was good but I was a little disappointed in the lack of fresh fruit, given the general standard.
Overall we would definitely recommend the Creggans Inn.

Room Tip: The view of Loch Fyne is not to be missed.

Excellent welcome and made to feel at home. Bar meal average but food good and device friendly. Need to go back later in year.

“Friendly, welcoming and good food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We first found Creggans last year when we stopped to have lunch. The food was so good we decided to come back this year. My husband booked a three night stay. From the initial welcome right through to our departure - we had a marvellous time. We had a huge superior room over looking the loch with a king size bed. My husband had booked a romantic deal which included the a la carte menu. The food was wonderful but I have to say the bar meals are just as good.. The location and views are simply stunning. We saw HMS Kent (warship) many times during our stay there - apparently the Loch is very deep and the Navy use it for sonar exercises - not something you would expect on a romantic break!
This break was just what we needed following a very stressful period in out lives. We were able to completely relax and wind down.
We would love to visit again - perhaps when the weather is a little kinder!

“We should be keeping this place secret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

My wife and I booked their Hogmany package so our experience will not be entirely representative but, as the secret of the Creggans clearly lies in the ceaseless efforts of Archie & Gill and their staff to care for their guests, it will give a valid flavour of the place. The Inn's lochside situation is stunning and, from the minute we walked in and were shown around by Gill, we felt at home. The rooms, all individually decorated as far as we could tell, are warm and comfortable and our bathroom was generously sized. Both were impeccably clean and everything worked, including the wi-fi. There are comfortable lounges upstairs and down, a smart restaurant and a locally-popular public bar with food, upwards of a dozen whiskies and a couple of well-kept local real ales. Being Hogmany there was very much a house party feel, with organised activities such as a New Year's Eve ceilidh and a guided walk, led by Gill (and Hector, the friendly, resident mutt) with Archie driving out to meet us with warm mince pies and a selection of seasonal drinks. The food was never less than good and was mostly exceptional and they went to considerable lengths to cater for my wife's wheat intolerance. Their wines are also very good. The only adverse comment I would make is that, while we felt that the £1,000 our 3 night stay cost us represented good value, the £12 each for fairly basic packed lunches for our return journey was somewhat excessive. That aside, we were very happy with our stay and are already considering booking for next Hogmany.

Room Tip: Try to get a loch view.
