We stayed at the Highland Breeze Bed & Breakfast in Pleasant Bay this past October. This is our 3rd time staying at this B&B and our host, Anna, has not waivered in her level of supreme service. We were greeted warmly by one of her two daughters, who step in on occasion to ensure that while Anna is out gathering needed supplies for ultimate guest comfort, the guests are still met with a warm smiling face. This year we requested and got to stay in the Grand Anse room again, which to our pleasant surprise had been refurbished. It still has the wonderful jacuzzi tub and the nice comfy Queen bed, but the walls had been changed rom blue to a more neutral beige and the TV was upgraded to a flat screen. Anna's little touches, such as books, wine glasses and candles are still evident and serve to amke the room a "honeymoon" suite of sorts.
Breakfast was, yet again, amazing. If a hearty breakfast is the most important meal of the day to start you on your way, Anna ensures that you will be good for hours, in case you don't find a place to stop for lunch. Starting with yoghurt and cereal or fruit salad, she follows up with bacon, sausage, eggs made to order, and depending on the day, pancakes or roasties, or something of the sort. Not to mention the coffee flows freely as does the tea, if you are a preferred tea drinker. Couple that with meeting interesting people from all over and you have a memorable stay on a weekend!
Once again, Anna and the Highland Breeze helped make our Thanksgiving weekend a wonderful one. Now.. if on;y the leaves had changed color and cooperated.. but then again, green is a color, right?
