I stayed here with my wife and son in June of 2011. We found the staff to be corteous, helpful and attentive. The hotel infrastructure wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was clean and in good shape. We got free Wi-Fi, just like advertised. The continetlat breakfast was there, but not that wonderful. The rooms were small, but the beds were comfortable. The sheets and pillows could be changed, though. The bathroom was spottlesly clean and well stocked with soap and toilet paper, but the towels were a bit rough after one wash too many. Security was very good. The hotel has a restaurant with very tasty, although limited, seafood selection. We got two free margaritas the first night we were there. All in all, it was a good stay. It was comfortable. About the only complaint that I had was about the air conditioning. While it worked quite well and kept the room cool, it was a noisy, wall mounted unit and right at the same level as the beds, which ment that the cold air was hitting us straight in the face. I was told that the staff that those are in the process of being replaced by more silent mini-splits mounted high on the wall. Other than that, I reccommend this hotel to anyone who is easy going, open minded and would rather stay at a small friendly hotel vs. a gigantic, impersonal chain hotel.

My wife and I spent two weekend nights at the Best Western in San Carlos. It is located on the primary road accross from the beach. It is a very convenient location. The rates were very reasonable and while the property is dated, it is clean and keep in good condition. The front desk staff were very helpful and curtious.

On previous visits to San Carlos we have always stayed in the MarinaTerra complex but in our opinion they have out priced the accommodations there. The Best Western offered a comfortable quiet room for almost half the price so we tried it and were not disappointed. Special Kudos to all the front desk staff particularly Alfonso who was very polite and extremely helpful. There is a nice BBQ restaurant on the property and many other choices within less than a two minute walk. Yes we would certainly stay again.

When I visit a place like San Carlos I usually check the hotels on the way into town to see what the prices are like and then try to make a deal at the upscale hotels for something close. When business is slow it helps them and me. But for some reason San Carlos hotels are above it all. Tetakawi offered a great rate and no one was willing to come close. There is nothing wrong with this hotel. OK, it's not 5 stars but the pool layout is nice enough, the room view was good and the price was good. My only complaint is that they snuck in a fee for the credit card so pay in cash if you visit.
