“Spectacular!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 February 2011

A spectacular B & B with a spectacular view. The attention to detail, both physically and in hospitality, are beyond comparison. Host Herbert and his staff go the extra mile to ensure enjoyment and satisfaction. Visiting San Miguel de Allende is an incredible experience in its own right, but staying at Casa Don Pascual is an added pleasure; it is the tasty topping on the perfect dessert.
The only drawback is its location. While it is a walking distance to town, Casa Don Pascual is high on a steep hill. That is why it has the spectacular view it has. If you do not enjoy walking or hiking, this B & B may not be for you. But, on the other hand, bus lines are nearby and to get them one takes a flat route. Taxis, too, are always available.
So, for an incredible experience in an outstanding place, consider Casa Don Pascual.

“Beautiful house in a beautiful town!”

We stayed at Casa Don Pascual during the 200years celebration of Mexico's Independence in September. After a warm welcome by the owner Herbert and his staff, we were shown around the property and were immediately impressed by the Colonial architecture style of the building and the traditional Mexican interior design. Every piece inside the house including furniture, paintings, kitchen tiles, bathroom sinks, sculptures, pool chairs, and even the great variety of cactuses decorating the entrance, looked as if they were handpicked one by one and came together in marvelous harmony with Mexico. Each room and the very traditional kitchen reminded us of the Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera's era. The view from the balconies on the second floor was breath taking, overlooking the entire San Miguel de Allende, one of the smallest towns in Mexico but also one of the ones with most number of churches. The food was to die for, in particular the breakfast. It was plentiful and deliciously Mexican, not to mention the nice morning tea or coffee served to the room every morning that we zipped still in the warmth of our bed.
Despite recent news about Mexico's border conflicts, we felt very safe at all times and kind of realized that Mexico is very a large and diverse country where you can enjoy a nice relaxing family holiday.

“Relaxed Luxury”

My boyfriend and I rang in the new year at Casa Don Pascual. I have been to San Miguel many times, but never have I stayed in such a beautiful and well appointed home there. Our room had a terrace with a wonderful vista over the town. The room itself was luxurious and very comfortable. The fireplace was perfect for the chilly nights.
Herbert, the owner of the B&B is an amazing host. Be sure and include the breakfasts in your stay. It was something different every morning and each one was delicious and enough to tide us over until a late afternoon snack. I highly reccomend this B&B for a romantic getaway for couples (gay or straight). I can't wait to go back!

“True Perfection in San Miguel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2010

After a wonderful stay here in 2008, we were very excited to be returning to our favorite city and this exquisite B&B. It was 8 days of pure bliss, which we will never forget. Herbert is an extraordinary host, with every detail of our comfort looked after with astute attention. The setting is magnificent--- a colonial mansion reproduced with lovely details in every corner of each room. The gorgeous furniture, dramatic artwork, pottery, sculptures, tiles, colors and spaciousness--- are a delight to savor slowly over time. We chose the Sunflower room again, with our own door going out to an expansive covered patio, and the salt-water pool, all with the backdrop of a panoramic view of the city and beyond. I have a back problem and the bed was perfect, with a selection of pillows upon request. The handsome bathroom and closet area are very well designed with every convenience. The early AM coffee/tea tray outside our door was a lovely way to start the day.

The proprietor, Herbert and his assistant Brian were delightful breakfast companions, and what incredible breakfasts! Each day a new culinary delight---- and they just kept getting better. There was no need for lunch most days. We also were very pleased with the laundry service and gracious presence of the Mexican staff. The location is slightly removed from the center of town, but easy to access with a bus or cab, or of course walking if you don't mind some steep slopes.

All in all, Casa Don Pascual exemplifies all that we love about this part of Mexico--- incredible gracious hospitality, gorgeous surroundings, and the spirit of fully enjoying the moment. Herbert made us feel like family, and we look forward to going back again and again.
